I'm on both without any issues (weight gain only noticeable side effects). Combination of both keeps my pain levels manageable

I’m also on these with no problem apart from weight gain.

I have been taking Pregabalin 200mg twice a day for a few years now and have not had any issues with it. It has been very helpful in managing my pain.

Hi fibrojules thanks for your reply I find they are helping me I just get scared they could be doing more harm than good I'm 52 and I worrie, I have mental health and anxiety , I read to much into everything x

Hi Charliebear, if they are helping you it could be more harmful to stop taking them. I also suffer with anxiety and read too much into things but I know that I am better with the Pregabalin than without it. If it is bothering you so much though, you should discuss it with your Doctor. Enjoy the bank holiday weekend xx

I'm on mirtazapine and gabapentin. No problems other than weight gain. Since found out that I don't have arthritis so I am slowly coming off gabapentin. They are now looking at "menopause" being the major culprit!! I know it may seem odd but it's got a lot to answer for. Now started on HRT.

Hopefully it will be a misdiagnosis and actually menopause causing your symptoms - at least there will be a chance of hrt helping your symptoms

I had fibro long before menopause, and unfortunately hrt doesn't make much difference

Hi Charliebear1234, I take 200mg pregabalin morning and evening, been on it since it first became available to use (originally prescribed for M.E by my M.E specialist) and have gone slightly higher when needed, like above I found some weight gain with this and I take 15 mg mirtazapine before bed for insomnia which does help me get to sleep most of the time but I still wake a couple of hours later in pain and then spend the night sleeping on and off due to pain and the insomnia. I've tried going up to 30mg of mirtazapine but found it made me agitated and had no better effect on my sleeping.

Hi butterfleye, thankyou for your reply IV been so worried starting mertaz but it has helped my depression and anxiety, I'm on pregab for my pain it does seem to be helping with the pain I just feel I have no filter if you no what I mean I feel I have no sensation for feelings like nothing bothers me don't care so much any more when things happen it sort of I think is turning me into a zombie, my pain is so bad I know I have to carry on with the tablets cus there's nothing more I can have or do and I don't won't to get to the stage where I'm literally not able to get out of bed, and that's where I was heading without my meds x

I know how you feel about the pain becoming too bad and the depression becoming too much. I'm also on Prozac for my depression and have been for many years but a couple of months ago I was feeling desparate and even put a post about it on here, I've found this place has been such a help for me, just reading other people's posts and knowing there are other people here who know how I feel. I've also just started on Butec patches which though aren't 100% perfect are helping the pain.

Another thing coming on here made me personally realise was that even though my Drs are basically useless sometimes I don't have to put up with feeling like this, also make sure you have a good blood test including Vitamin D and B12 levels, a kind member recommended that to me and I found out my Vitamin D levels were too low I now have a prescription for high strength Vitamin D and because it was low I had to have a blood test yesterday to check my bone profile (calcium level).

Can you have a word with your Dr and explain how the meds are making you feel?, is there maybe another combination they could try with you?.

I know this past 15 months my body is so sensitive to medications and ingredients even different brands!, which is hard work trying to explain to the pharmacy!. The first time I tried the Butec patches they gave me really bad headaches so this time I've increased them at a slower rate to avoid it.

Has your Dr offered you any type of talking therapy like CBT?, last time my surgery sent me a link to a website! but before I've actually been to someone, maybe that might be worth asking about?. xx

Hi butterfleye, IV read all what you said and thankyou for your advice I will take that on board but can I just give you a lil advice please don't go down that road of butec I was on them for 2 years and yes thought ok there working but after 6 month I started slowly going down hill pain intensified and appetite sank depression got worse, then I was stopping breathing in the night that's when I knew these patches weren't good so I stopped when cold turkey and my god I went through it I would never touch them again so please don't go down that path I did please cus they don't work in the end xxx

Hi butterfleye it was 10 then I went up to 15 because after a while my pain was increasing, 15 didn't help so I went to 20 then that's when I was stopping breathing that was it for me I was also having bad panic attacks which I never had befor I got that bad I called an ambulance one night I was in a rite mess and when they came out they wernt happy with the doctor prescribeing me them, they said this is your problem I'm writing a letter to your doctor you shouldn't be on this for long term pain it's for cancer patients not for fibromyalgia I don't know what planet your doctor is on, so I would really come off them I would hate for you to end up how I was and they are so bad to come off xxx
