Welcome @Meery. I won't say you will get used to it but hopefully you will find ways to manage the pain so life is more liveable. I found I was overdoing things on the days I felt I had less pain and then would suffer from worse pain for several days afterwards. I've now learnt to split up tasks into smaller more manageable chunks even using a timer. I stop before any fatigue or increased pain sets in even if the tasks isn't finished. By pacing myself like this I find the pain is more manageable.
The pain initially was extreme and I was literally frightened to move as I didn't want it getting worse, I would then literally have seized up. I then found that gently exercising my body helped. I would initially just do small stretches for a couple of minutes a d then gradually built up the length and the range of exercises,
Do try to eat healthily as it is easy just to grab convenience food when you are fatigued and in pain. By adding more fruit and vegetables, taking a good high strength Vitamin D supplement and coenzyme q10 for muscle pain I am at a better level. Pay for acupuncture by a practitioner versed in Chinese medicine and that has really helped, in fact I had a session this morning. He is extremely knowledgeable on fibro and has helped with advice on diet.
It is a case of trial and error unfortunately as far as medications is concerned as what suits one doesn't suit another.
Have you asked for a referral to a Pain Clinic as they might be able to offer you some alternatives like hydrotherapy or acupuncture?x
Hello, a good reply from Rosewine, I do find pacing is key in between house chores etc , I do take lots of mini breaks during the day, and differently a good soak in the bath with Epsom s salts is a must for me. Pain is horrid and hopefully your doctor has been helpful in treating you with meds ? Yes agree trial and error often but getting something that can dull the pain would be helpful. Xx
