Just wondering……..

I’ve had an under active thyroid for many years; inflammatory arthritis came along 9-10 years ago; followed by fibro about 5 years ago. Recent addition is high cholesterol 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. I don’t want statins so am trying dietary & lifestyle changes; I have cut out biscuits, cakes, etc. I’ve started to slowly lose a little bit of weight, but a big change is the reduction in my pain levels. Drugs are keeping the arthritis stable. So now I’m wondering if thyroid, fibro & cholesterol are all inter connected 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️.

Hi Similar to yourself I’ve had hypothyroidism for more than 27 years, osteoarthritis for last 7 years and I think my fibromyalgia came after having surgery for total hip replacement 4 years ago. I also have endometriosis and there are connections across. I’m no longer working due to my health and have implemented lots of self help and pain management, mindfulness , anti inflammatory diet etc it’s very slow progress but by not working I have time to try to manage my conditions better. I’m still continuing to research more info about the connections across these conditions also.

Thankyou - it’s an interesting theory, just seems more than a coincidence to me 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. I’ve been working just 3 days a week for the last 8 years, will shortly reduce to 2 days (15 hours a week). Look forward to seeing any further info you find - I’ll share too, if I find anything.

They can be sometimes. What are your blood tests showing? High cholesterol often corrects itself when optimal with thyroxine dose. Also, check D, B12, ferritin and folate.
