Just wondering if anyone else....
Hi Dreemar
Yes my fibro has got worse this last year but I do beleive it is because of the stress I have been under. I was looking after my Mother and sick husband for years and had CVFS and Fibro but I was able to live with it .Odd flare ups but nothing too bad. Then I had sleep depravation when my mother was seriously ill and I was told she was dying. sat with her for over 3 weeks day and night. Since then my mother has recovered, but has had to go into a home because my Fibro flared up. It has got so bad I cannot even walk now and can no longer drive the car.
I have had Fibro and CFS for over 16 years and this is the worse I have been but then I am getting older eh!!
When I conquered it last time I paced myself. and did a little at a time and got back on my feet, I am trying to have the attitude of I did it before so I can do it again.
We are all here for each other and any help I can pass on I will, please be assured that on this forum everyone understands what each of us is going through.
Have you had your meds checked and are you under a pain clinic. all these things were not out there when I first got it ,but there is a lot they are doing now, and maybe you need to be re-assesed Meds wise.
I do hope you soon feel better

i have fibro for four and a half years and have found it has got alot worse i cant walk for long periods ive been in alot of pain i was working but had to give it up because i cant stand for long ive set a tea towel on fire left rings of the cooker on so iv been band from the kitchen by my family and really struggle with housework hoovering is so painful and i end up like a 90yr old woman all bent over
I have asked that question myself,,and I have been told that
It does not get worse, I don't know if it gets to a point then gets
No worse
Mine has got worse in the two years that I have had it I now have something
Called interstitial cystitis which goes with fibro in some people but not all
I believe it gets worse but then I expect every one is different that's the
Problem with fibro
If you were asked what would you say was the worst pain or being tired
Mine would be tiredness and no energy I think.
Hope you feel better soon
Love Viv
I was only diagnosed last year, when I was 16 and I've found that I've got MUCH worse in just that year, I used to be able to run around with my friends and be childish and such but now I have to sit on the sidelines and watch, unable to really do anything including walking around with tiem, let alone run.

I suppose I first started with symptoms just under a year ago - in that time the severity has definately increased.
I hope it reaches a level and sits there fairly soon as I am just about managing the pain without heavy duty drugs ... it is the CFS tiredness that really knocks me about with bouts of insomnia, bouts of sleeping 20hours a day and a totally messed up body clock!
The numbness and paralysis episodes are no fun either ... goodness only knows what causes those but I've received the verdict we all hate to hear ... "you'll just have to learn to live with it".

I think each case tends to be different. Some people say their Fibro has improved over the years, some even say their condition is in "remission" with no symptoms at all. However, there are others who say they have definitely worsened over the last few years.
Speaking personally I find my Fibro has its ups and downs. I can't say I've worsened as I am definitely managing my symptoms better than I have before. On the other hand my RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) is definitely worse, I am speaking to my GP about this. My CFS/ME (Chronic Fatigue/ME) is managed better since I've learnt Pacing Therapy. My pain levels are steady and even when they peak I have the meds to cope with this. All in all I feel more in control of my symptoms, so mentally and physically I feel more positive about my Fibro etc. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you all for your comments.... I guess a trip back to the docs is in order...I've been doing quite a bit of reading lately and it seems to me that I might have a few underlying problems that I need to get checked out xxxx
You might also want to get your vitamin D levels checked, as my GP said a deficiency can make the condition (pain and sensitivity) worse and lower your immune system. It seems that vit D deficiency is quite common with fibro, so is worth a look.
I had fibro symptoms for years, but has got a lot worse in the last 2 years. I'm 24 and feel about 84 sometimes! It affects everyone differently, but my GP has said to me that it does get worse, as you get older - could be wrong though!
Good luck and big hugs x x
