Positive reaction to Pfizer?

Having suffered for many many years with the past 5 years practically without relief from flares Ive found that the past few months have been pretty pain free!! Im obviously ecstatic (with a little bit of reality in knowing it may well return) Found myself the past couple of days being quite astounded that I was not in pain before and after the rains. Im just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, the only things I can put it down to is the Pfizer vaccination , any thoughts x

Glad to hear that you are pretty pain free. It could be a coincidence that it's since you have had the Pfizer jabs. I had Pfizer for each of my 3 jabs, and to be honest am in the middle of a flare up. Pain wise it's pretty bad. So Pfizer didn't help me at all. Anyway, let's hope that you remain pain free for a long time!

You are not the first person to say this but it would be less than 5 and maybe less than 3 across the communities. And I think different vaccines. Some people can get spontaneous remission, some through pregnancy. It is not well understood and could as others say be a coincidence.

that's interesting to know as I did have spontaneous remission (as you put it, didn't know that was a phrase !) during both of my pregnancies.

I have noticed over the years that for me "an other challenge' has sometimes brought about some relief. As if something new has done a bit of a reset for my immune response.Interesting

Is this the new change itself or has it brought about a change like more sleep?

Yes I do find that if I have an infection or other virus etc my ME/Fibro takes a back seat, I quite enjoy the reprieve during these times like its almost a relief to have a ' different set of pains' Yes better sleep, different deeper sleep although I wake every hour or two at best I still sleep much deeper.

Funny you say that, as I wasn't recognizing it enough: The jab-sfx are increasing my sleep stints to around 3h, so I'm only up 2-3x. (Only thing that's better tho. ) So thanks for the hint!

I had the astra zenica for my first 2, the first one caused my chronic fatigue to flare up for probably 10 weeks, the second has put me back about 3 years to where i was after having a reaction to a lignocaine infusion done at the pain management clinic, the result of which i went from being able to do normal everyday activities albeit in constant pain, to having 5 weeks of not even being able to sit up, followed by only being able to do about 10 minutes a day of normal daily activity for 2 years, i had managed to build this up to about an hour and a half a day, since the vaccine i am now back to around half an hour a day, the rest of the time i have to rest, i asked my G{ if i should have the booster which is the pfiser one, they said, the pfiser one has fewer side effects - yes but is one of those side effects going to make me worse!!!! also, when the vaccines first came out it was stated that they could not be mixed yet now they are saying they can - dont have any faith in them anymore. i live alone, there isnt anybody to be there for me if it makes me worse

They said they did not have evidence to recommend mixing vaccines at the beginning. Then they did some research and found that it produced a good immune response. That with the additive that allows the Pfizer vaccine to be stored on a normal fridge for a month is why we have the current policy.

Every medication can cause an adverse reaction in odd people, that does not mean they are not perfectly safe for the vast majority. If we were to insist that no medication that can cause a reaction in a few people could be licenced, we would have no medications available at all. That a Covid vaccination can cause severe fatigue in someone does not mean it is in any way dangerous.

'in odd people' - i phoned my gp after the second one, told them what had happened and their response was, "there have been 'a lot' of people who have had side effects" - not odd people - a lot of people and this is just one gp practice

They added that - "the Pfiser one 'has fewer' side effects" - not it is'ok and wont make you even worse'

one of the lasting/long term effects of covid is Chronic Fatigue, i phoned my gp in January about this as already having it, would it make it worse, and i was told, "no it wont" so i went ahead, and yes it did.

I am sorry you had side effects that you didn't cope well with. Having side effects comes with just about every medication and vaccination, sometimes even foods we eat, BUT, that doesn't make them "unsafe". In terms of vaccine, in fact, the side effect symptoms are the proof that vaccine is working correctly to protect you.

I understand you are worried about not having someone to care for you if you experience side effects though. Please be extra careful whatever you decide to do because if you catch COVID it will certainly have serious consequences on fibromyalgia symptoms and other health functions that very likely to last way longer and more serious than side effects of vaccine.

Would have to disagree with you there. All the evidence shows that it is safe and effective.

So sorry you have had a rough time of it, I will however share my experience, 1st dose A/Z knocked me for 6 about 3/4 weeks I think, 2nd about 2 weeks, 3rd was Pfizer and although it flattened me to a level I didn't even know I could go when I did get back up I was practically pain free and more active than years for about three months, have just had Jab 4 !!! yesterday Pfizer and feel like shit again but hoping it will pass and then I can feel safer and pain free again. Hi, I have cfs and fibro, the first two vaccines were AstraZeneca which made my fatigue temporarily worse but after my booster which was phyzer I had a boost in energy and less pain but sadly it only lasted a couple of weeks. It is nice to hear when people have periods of remission, I hope it continues for you sleep-in.x

So I was exactly the same as you but seems I was much luckier with the remission brought about by Pfizer, I just had my 4th jab yesterday and hoping once I get over the side effects that the remission will be lasting . Feel free to contact me for an update, maybe you might benefit from the booster of the Pfizer ?

I found 'in emergancy' like when I moved; pain can miraculously abate sometimes. But it can also suddenly be very bad even if I have a very quiet day! So who knows?!?!?

I read an article recently that said some fibro and cfs/me sufferers have reported relief from symptoms following their jabs, some for several weeks/ few months!

What @bertie1606 is/you are referring to will be Cort Johnson's polls on Health Rising - quite striking how this is possible.

"On April 26th after hearing reports of people who had actually improved after taking the vaccine, Health Rising’s “vaccine improvement poll” found that 29% percent of the approximately 1100 people answering the poll reported they’d improved, almost 30% of them “dramatically”. Thirty-three percent reported their improvements lasted at least a month."

The written analyses on those (3-4) poll pages are more positive than the poll results, I think due to the fact that the polls are ongoing. For example I haven't taken the poll yet as my severe sfx are still ongoing - over 4 weeks from the 1st Pfizer altho I was (unknowingly) taking the supps recommended by Klimas & Co. will be due to my oversensitivity from "chemicals" to many foods - which I was reckoning with, esp. after reading Cort's poll results for the severely ill, altho not this severe on my 1st try. But NO regrets, altho I haven't been able to work or play table tennis anymore.
