They gave it to me to manage the pain side of things.Im on 60mg 😱

I'm thinking to ask to be put down to 20mg if i still feel this bad. I could not even drive today or walk round.

Thank you sooo much for your reply!! Keep in touch and let me know how you get on.

I really hope it helps 🤞🤞

Hello , I’ve been on duloxtene for 4 years , I didn’t have any side effects but each person responds differently . Ring your surgery for a piece of mind , sometimes it takes time for a new tablet to settle so I read here from members but as I say call your surgery to be sure. I’ve gone up to 120g recently to help with pain but with fibro tiredness is a symptom so hard to tell if it’s the meds or the Fibro or both 😗🙁xx

I recently went from one tablet of 60mg to 120 g one in morning and one at night and yes I did feel the pain was less , I was originally put on it for anxiety which it works perfectly for that but also told that it was helpful to fibro patients xx

Hello

Don't worry it will pass. I've been on it for years.

I had an awful drunk feeling for a week and the same side effects as you but it eased off

Hi there I’m on duloxetine myself and have found it helps my pain, although not completely but only thing that has helped me… just give yourself a bit of time to get it in your system, if your symptoms improve and it helps with the pain then good but if not go back to your doctors and see what else may help you

I've been on Duloxetine for over 2 years now. For me it has been a miracle drug. I'm on 30mg twice daily, 60mg total. My question is, are you taking it in a single dose or divided like me. If taking a single dose it is likely your side effects will be worse. The one side effect I had was tiredness that wore off after a couple of weeks. If you are on a single dose speak to your GP and get it in a divided dose. Also 1 day is not enough to evaluate the efficacy of a drug. I hope you get sorted. For many it is a wonderful drug for Fibromyalgia and I hope you feel much better very soon.

Hello,I was given 60mg and that was a very bad day but now i have gone down to 30mg and it is my 3rd day.

I am a get up and go person so for me this has stopped me in my track.

It embarrassing to not be able to get up or move. I've been pretty much in bed.

I have heard alot of positive for people how it has helped them.

So I'm pushing through and will keep going.

I'm just extremely worried i try this and go through all these side affects for it not to work.

But i have no choice but to try it.

Genuinely appreciate everyone that has commented and love the feed back.

It makes me realise im not crazy and these side effects are hard but also im not alone!

So thank you x

How long before the side effects wear off and i see the benefits? X

Hi, I think you've been wise to drop your dose, perhaps in the future you will be able to take 30mg twice daily, but not for now. The severe tiredness lasted only a few days and didn't cause me much trouble after that. I do still get the odd day of tiredness, but suspect it's more due to the Fibro rather than the drug as it always after I've done too much the day before, a typical Fibro symptom.I'm not very active as I have severe arthritis in both knees and can barely walk, I've got a long wait for a double knee replacement so if I doze off on the sofa now and again doesn't matter to me. Also I'm 70 and retired, I now understand why my grandparents always had a sleep in the afternoon. For you being very active I can see that this could be a big problem for you.

May I suggest that if possible you continue for 6 months as they have a cumulative effect and if still having trouble then and no improvement in your Fibro symptoms go back to your GP or Rheumatologist. I had a great GP who did research on Fibro as our hospital Rheumatology department refuse to see Fibro patients and leave it to GP's to deal with. I've tried a lot of different drugs including Gabapentin and Pregabalin none of which helped. Duloxetine when it came onto the general market a couple of years ago was my GP's last resort for me and thank goodness it worked once the tiredness eased up. He also gave me a lot of literature to read to help me understand the disease and my options. I need to warn you that Fibro never disappears completely and it may force you to make life changes. I'm not trying to upset you just let you know as prewarned is prearmed.

I really hope that this is the right drug for you and that my advice is helpful. I'm rooting for you X

Hello ☺️

All i can say is thank you! I love personal experience and appreciate any advise or warning!

Im 33 years old and am coming to learn this is life changing. Probably was in denial the last year and is the reason i am where i am.

I start a course on the 1st July to give le a full understanding about fibo. Also am going back to see my councillor who really helped me when my daughter came out of hospital with a lung disease.

I definitely think you have earned your afternoon naps.

My dad had a double knee op and it really helped him. Recovery was long but worth it!

So wish you all the luck of the world. Am here if you need anything.

Xx

hi, I have been on duluxatine for too many years. I am on 120 mg a day together with gamapentine and codein. Can’t say I remember any great side effects with duluxatine but at the time I was also diagnosed with ME so was sleeping most of the day anyway. After trying others I think the duluxatine was and is the best. Try to accept the symptoms and work with them. If you know you are going to be tired a couple hours after you take them plan in a rest/sleep if possible until you get used to them. I always take new medication with the thoughts that they are going to change my life (but obviously not. I’m not delusional). I do believe positive mental attitude plays a big part in the management of fibromyalgia. But ultimately it is your body and no one can tell you if something is right for you but you. When I’ve been given new medication and taken it for week or months I ask myself ‘does this enhance my life in any way, can I justify the side effects’ if the answer is no I discuss it with my doctor and ask to be taken off it.
