Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying the lovely sunshine. My question is this. I have read that there is currently, back payments of PIP awards being paid by the DWP for cognitive conditions. I wondered if Fibro fog could be classed as a cognitive disorder too. We all know and experience it, it is very unpleasant and debilitating to say the least. Could we all qualify for it? What do my fellow sufferers think?

hi , if its the backpayments I am thinking about - then it relates to people who have severe psychological distress due to anxiety/severe mental health disorders; autism; dementia etc. cognitive issues due to fibromyalgia may be part of it depending on the severity of how it affects you. You always have to remember with benefits such as PIP its not the diagnosis or the symptom but how it affects your life on a daily basis they are assessing.
Interesting. I didn't know about this. I suffer from cognitive function issues since my craniotomy and my later stroke added to it. I shall follow this thread with interest. Thanks for posting.
