Hi all , in absence of being able to have a good deep massage , does anyone know if a Tens machine helps with the never ending tight painful shoulders , I feel as if I'm carrying bricks ? Thx

Shoulder pain
In my experience, a TENS will not touch that “concrete” feeling. The best home muscle massage tool recommended to me by my physio is........a tennis ball!
Stand with your back to the wall and pop the tennis ball between your shoulder blade and the wall. Roll it around using your back. Press harder on it for more pressure or lighter if it hurts too much. It’s surprisingly effective.
P.S. I do love a TENS for distracting me from pain. But I think you need something to actually knead your muscles - which the 🎾 will 🙂
Thank you so much I have a tennis ball and I will give it a go .Anything to be honest it's one of those days of pain just about everywhere, a real fed up day with no end in sight !
I have a tens machine however I can’t tolerate it on my most painful areas but I do use it as a distraction from pain! I find that it’s most useful as a distraction rather than a pain relief! I tried acupuncture and it sent my muscles into spasm and tens machine is quite similar effect! I do find massage helps and I believe that private physios are taking appointments so you could book in with one of those? Heat helps me a nice deep warm bath and I have an electric blanket which is a throw over not one for the bed, I wrap that over my shoulders and back! It helps somewhat.
All the best to you and I hope you find some relief

Thank you Braveheart , yes warm baths and blankets help enormously! I might try and find a local physio , it's funny how all the stresses of the world end up in your shoulders !
Thx for replying!
I have an electronic, massage cushion. I plug it in, place it between my back and the sofa and then lean back on it. It also has a heat setting which is optional to use. The cushion can obviously be moved around in different places on your back . It really helps. Can't remember where I bought it as I've had it for some time.
Hi, I tend to use an electric heat pad, it sits on your shoulders and goes down your back a short way. I’ve had mine a while, it was recommended by someone on here. I bought it at Lidl, but have no idea if they still have them.
Both the tennis ball treatment and some yoga shoulder release exercises (and relaxation) should help.I've also resorted to the stick on heat patches several times.
