Hi everyone, I hope you are all as well as can be.

I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis and finally got to see my rheumatologist face to face last week after many telephone consultations (He had requested full blood tests to be done by my GP before our face to face which had been done).

During my appointment with him he said that my bloods were showing up several different markers but not all for one specific illness/disease, to be honest with you I cant remember everything he said but I do remember him then saying he would like me to have further bloods and ultrasound scans but also wanted me to start on a new med. He has prescribed me sulfasalazine and I have to have blood tests every two weeks for the first 3 months and then monthly after that. Have any of you been on or taking these meds?

Many thanks for reading

Not personally but I know it’s sometimes prescribed for RA or other inflammatory conditions. Sometimes the blood markers are unspecific so they will take a closer look. Wishing you well😊

Hi, not personally but my partner has been on sulfasalazine for a few years now, he has psoriatic arthritis. I think he struggled initially with this drug, mostly nausea if I remember correctly but once he got through this it's been really helpful for him. If you're needing any advice/info just let me know and I'll ask him 🤗

I’ve had sulfasalazine for RA. It’s commonly used to help control the progress of the disease. It didn’t suit me personally but many people have success with it. Definitely worth trying - just be aware your pee might turn very yellow 😂 Good luck x
