Hi I suffer from R/A and am on alot of meds and had numerous joint replacements ,i was told that i also had fibro as they go together reading your comments mirrored how i feel.Hope you feel better.I am on methroxrate injections which help slightly.
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2011.then I was hospitalised for a week on steroid drip and given diagnosis I had rheumatoid arthritis too.Whenever I go see rheumatologist he says pain etc I complain of is the fibro.he says my rheumatoid disease is controlled as on loads meds and biologic injection.I take pregabalin for the fibromyalgia which helps.
Hi. Yes, I have seronegative RA and fibro. I was told that RA can go hand in hand with fibro as the ongoing RA pain essentially puts the central nervous system into overdrive. But personally I feel like I’ve had fibro since way before I was officially diagnosed.
It can be hard to know some days whether the RA is the culprit of feeling pants, or if it’s the fibro. Or both! But I do find that the self management techniques for both conditions are pretty similar, so that helps.
You should ask your rheumatologist about getting a formal fibro diagnosis x
I have read that there could be a link between vitamin D and RA and that a doctor in Brazil has been treating RA with vitamin D:
have you ever heard of Ambroxol for fibromyalgia? I use it for my Parkinson's, but most don't know it can really help manage fibromyalgia pain, just thought I would share. Really helps with my shoulder nerve pain from PD, and also clears my brain fog to keep me sharp! Some links on it below if you're interested.

for memory I also take Acetyl L Carnitine in addition to Ambroxol, it really works too!
Hi, I have RA and asked to see my rheumatologist as I thought my methotrexate wasn’t working- not helping pain, neither was Tramadol- she examined me and said I had fibromyalgia as well. So yes, they do ! I’m now on a low dose of amitriptyline at night which helps me sleep but the tiredness and lack of energy hasn’t improved. Sorry to sound a misery, don’t mean to, just telling it how it is! I started after the sudden death of a very close friend and I think it was this which triggered it, as apparently this can happen. Wishing you all the best x
cannot remember the stat but I think it was you may be 20% more likely to get fibro if you have RA.
