Covid jab

I know my Fibro symptoms have increased dramatically over the last year or so, many meds I can't take as they affect my gut and make my infllammation even worse. I had my first jab 4 weeks ago and since then inflammation has gone to a new level, im at a loss as I had a feeling it would affect me. I never have a flu jab. What to do?

Hi ZoBo. Sorry you’re feeling rubbish 😢 I can recommend a few things that are not meds...but apologies if you’ve tried them all already!

- TENS machine to distract from the pain

- Gentle exercises and stretching - you could also ask your GP for a physiotherapy referral

- Trying an anti-inflammatory diet (helps some people but not everyone)

- Mindfulness and/or hobbies

- Epsom salt baths

Lots of people on here have recommended weighted blankets to help sleeping and pain reduction...but I haven’t tried one myself.

Sending you a hug 🤗 x

It might depend whether you are normally in pain in bed it can't take that away ?

I have intense throbbing in my legs. Where iend up jiggling my kegs to try and ease them. Blanket weight eases them. They also help the stress. Its a cuddle in a blanket. Kudd.ly have them on offer so i gave it a go. Got 2 kids weight coming 2day. No they dont work for every 1. But dont know til u try im afraid. I have much less pain in my legs than ive had for years. Which It works for me. Is the best i can say ,sorry.good luck

inflammation is not normally part of fibro itself. if you are having a reaction that you think is related to the jab and 4 weeks have passed then please contact your GP.

If it is at the site then as suggested cold packs and some NSAIDs like brufen.

Thanks but can't take Ibruprofen cos of my gut. For want of a better word it has always felt like that to me.

there are other NSAIDS and many with enteric coating to help the stomach deal with them better or topcial creams etc. These do help with inflammation but speak to your GP.
