Hi everyone! Does anyone ever get severe abdominal pain after eating that seems to last for hours? This comes and goes for me over the years. Yesterday it was unbearable. Slightly better today but I’m afraid to try eating again. Does anyone have anything that helps? Thank you !!!

Abdominal pain
Hi there, I see this is your first post to this group so let me wish you a warm welcome. May I ask have you been diagnosed with fibromyalgia?
You say you have had this problem for a long time. I'm presuming you have spoke with your GP about the pain your getting. If not may I suggest you book an appointment with your doctor and let he/she know how your feeling.
If you have spoken to a doctor already but your still suffering and it was me I would be going back to see them again.
It could be many things causing a tummy pain from anxiety to ulcers and a load of other stuff inbetween. So it really would be good to get it checked out professionally xx

I get it occasionally, but my daughter suffers this and all tests been clear over the years. Here's is due to having a sluggish bowel which means she cannot digest food as quickly as she should. She is now vegetarian as eating meat was the worst thing for triggering the severe pain
But worth speaking to your gp and getting it checked out xxx
acid - GERD?. Could be due to medication or changes in gut. Try Ompanazole and gaviscon advance. You may be able to do this temporary or adhoc.
Hi18181, I too have the same symptoms and I have been diagnosed withe a sluggish bower liike the other advisors daughter plus I have ibs. These where diagnosed once I had been sent for several tests so it's best to go back to GP for further tests. All the best
Have you looked up IBS syndrome very common with fibro?
I have had it this time around for well over a year. It's almost like bloat. I take nos. 10 or 11 tissue salts but no rellef . It is one of the highlight so in we guilty last
Ibs is common. I get it. Worse with stress, and if i eat too many sulphites
You need your gut (& stomach) looked at intensely (colonoscopy, gastroenteroscopy). If that doesn't find anything then you'd need an elimination diet, maybe starting with gluten-free or dairy-free etc., each for 2-3 months, using a "gut"/eating diary either on your own or with a dietician, nutrition specialist etc.
Yes, I have experienced that over the past few days. It makes me feel totally uncomfortable with almost a tight band feeling around my girth. After going to bed last night I slept for a few hours then awoke with tremendous pains again, tried walking around the room in the hopes it may reduce the pain but it didn’t. At one point I even took my blood pressure as I felt dizzy & sweaty, but that was all ok too. I finally rested back in bed in an almost sitting up position for comfort. Woke up feeling really tired and aching all over. It’s a day on the sofa for me, just rest I think, in the hopes tomorrow will be a better day. I’m on PREGABALIN 25mg 3 twice a day. Dr has just increased that to 100mg once a day soSee how I get on???
Do you take anything to help relieve your pain?
Wishing you well

Hello I had had these symptoms on and off for over 5 years. One day it was so bad that I had to go to the emergency room. I told them about all the tests colonoscopy endoscopy everything you name it and they all come back negative. A gastroenterologist came in to see me and scheduled a test to see if my gallbladder was working correctly. I came to it was not caused by gallbladder stones it's simply was that my gallbladder had stopped working. my gallbladder would fill up with bile and then take a very long time to squeeze it out to the digestive system causing intense pain. I am not a doctor or saying this might be your problem, but maybe going to see a gastroenterologist might be helpful. Hoping you feel better.
