Hi and a warm welcome to our community. Here you will find information support friendship and laughter too. You can find general information on fibromyalgia at our main website fmauk.org

You might find it useful to keep a pain/symptom diary for a few weeks and then make another appointment too discuss with your gp. This allows you to let your gp see all the symptoms you are experiencing.

You can also find FMA UK's patient booklet at fmauk.org/publications

Are you able to see a different doctor? Even after a diagnoses they are not particually helpful (well, not in my case) If you want some help in the mean time, then I would recommend the Dr Leon Chaitow muscle & fibromyalgia book - it's such a wonderful book, he also has you tube videos about trigger point, which you can do using those hard balls put inside a pair of tights and pressing against the wall.

Best wishes

Debs

Sorry you seem to be suffering so badly. The finger pain with nodules does sound like osteoarthritis which have but as you say the other symptoms don't seem to link in with this and could be something else. Did the gp only test for RA or did they test for things like lupus and thyroid problems?

Like others say it might be worth seeing another gp. Good luck in finding out what is causing these symptoms.x

Osteoarthritis is when you have a injury the resulting arthritis is called osteoarthritis.

I hope you don't mind me saying, but osteoarthrosis is usually the effect of wear & tear in certain joints (usually the knees, hips, hands & spine) in older people. It is more usually thought of as a degenerative condition, rather than due to an injury, which might be a secondary cause, together with some other medical conditions, or certain genetic disorders.

You need to go and see a rumatoligst explain all your symptoms. My GP didn't have a clue he did all the blood tests but they all came back normal. Fibromyia doesn't show up on blood tests. I was diagnosed when I went to the hospital and seen a rumatoligst they are better qualified to diagnosis. I really hope you get the help you need. Take care
