Hi there, let me welcome you to our very friendly group you say you have been told you don't have fibro. Is there some reason you don't believe that diagnoses?
I don't know your age but could your symptoms be menopausal. I am 64 and still suffer with those types of symptom. My lady GP told me only a few weeks ago some woman are still dealing with menopause symptoms into their 70s 🙄 I do hope you don't have fibro it's something I would not wish on anyone xx

Have you been to the Opticians? Has anyone told you that you have Dry Eye?
I would get this checked out again. I have Carbomber Eye Gel drops on prescription for this.
What blood tests did the Rheumatologist do? I would enquire about what Antibodies were tested. Ask for Thyroid Antibodies TPO and TgAb tests plus other Thyroid test.
Have you had any blood tests to check any nutrients levels - in partcicular Vtamin D .
Hi, I use Hyco San Extra for my dry eyes. The Optician some years ago recommended this type to me. Once opened, they can be used for up to 6 months. I find them easier to apply than some other types of eye drops.
Hi McGraw i suffer with dry eyes it was the optician that told me go buy some eye drops from a chemist its only sterile water thats in them and put them in 4 times a day keep them in the fridge has there lovely and cool when you put them in it works for me if only i could find something for rest of the ailments i have gentle hugs x
I have brought different drops from pharmacy even tried something for hayfever as l thought that might be the answer. Hopefully be able to go to the opticians soon.
The stranges thing is when l went to see the rheumatoid ologist she said that l only had 5, pressure points so didn't have FB.
I was so happy .....as l am a very long time suffer of chronic pelvic pain which has taken any stort of life away from me.
I saw the rheumatoidologist last year so most of the things she asked me if l suffered any of them. l was pleased to say no to at the time.l was suffering with a painful shoulder. She send me for a scan it was then the Dr told me it was only where tear a little bit of arthritis.
Now l can say l have a lot more of them which is very hard to cope with plus other stuff. Trying to get drs appt you only have a callback from them so they just keep given me antibiotics drops.
Perhaps using Hylo Forte will help. and if it is also affecting you during the night again and you wake up as if there is sand or something in your eye unable to open your eye without feeling pain then HYLO-POS eye ointment will help great deal. You can get them over the counter. Much much better than using antibiotics. Also try to use sun glasses or some sort of glasses to help the ease the strain from the eye. The dry eye condition means the body and the eyes are unable to produce enough eye tears to lubricate the eye. It happens to anyone in these modern days. Since there is not enough tears in the eye it is always good idea to make sure you specifically wash the eye to get rid of all of the dust debris the tears in the eye used to clean off the eye. It should be getting into the routine of washing and keeping the eye clean.
No, did not have my operation as the sergeon bullied me into not having it by giving me all the bad things that could happen he frighten the life out of me had a really bad attitude sarcasm not a very nice man so did not want him touching me! So so disappointed as l have been waiting a long time.
I have had 6, operation never have l been told all the gory details of risks.
As l was last on list that morning he was running late too, just think he wanted to get away and l was in his way !! ☹️X
Thanks for you care ❤️
Could it be blepharitis? Check if a hospital near you has an eye A&E as it’ll need a specialist to diagnose it.
Like you I’m using eye drops and hay fever tablet as do suffer with dry eyes and sometimes itchy, I do find if I miss a day with tablet it does make a difference , good you have been to opticians for a check. Can always get a 2nd opinion if you still have concerns , my doctor diagnosed me, I never went to a rheumatologist. Xxx
I began to suffer from dry eyes several years ago, but I assumed this was a problem to do with getting older (70+). Sometimes I couldn't open my eyes for several minutes in the morning when I first woke up.
What helped me was something called Starflower Oil (made from the plant Borage) which I now order regularly from Nature's Best. It has almost eliminated all the dryness, so it is no longer a problem.
I am also very careful to make sure I blink regularly when using a computer. It is so easy to stare open-eyed for long periods without realising it.
All our health problems are different, but I hope some people might find Starflower Oil as helpful as I do.
I was diagnosed with 'dry eye' - explained to me as damage to the moisture layer of the eye; over 20 yrs ago, ot was the reason I would never be able to get Lasik surgery.
I used a useful, but annoying gel for a long time (ie the gel soothed my eyes but made 'seeing' impossible, so I only used it if I was going to lay down, or at bed time!) And I used it because it hurt the least! Almost all eye drops and gels actually cause an extremely painful burning sensation!
I had to go to my optometrist about 5 years ago - I've worn glasses since I was 3, and get my eye tests done religiously; this visit was between my normal tests, and because I feared that my vision had suddenly deteriorated!
The optometrist was able to determine that it wasn't my prescription that had changed, but that my 'dry eye' had gotten significantly worse, to the point that it was interfering with my vision!
He recommended SYSTANE ULTRA LUBRICANT EYE DROPS.
And they have made a difference for me.
They do, (very occasionally,) 'burn' - mainly when my allergies exacerbate things! But do not interfere with my vision the way gels can. I have a bottle in my handbag, and one by my bed, and the drops are good for 3mnths after opening.
(You can get it in pipettes too, but I often use more than the 'recommended' 3 drops, and *flood* my eyes. The bottle allows me to do this, the single-dose-units don't.)
I sincerely hope that one or more of the recommendations offers you some relief - it can be utterly excruciating if left untreated.
