Intro and little rant 😬

Hi lovely peeps, I'm Dawn and new to this group. I was diagnosed in 2018 with Fibro, suffered a couple years before being diagnosed. It's such a horrible thing to have, aswell as being frustrating in all aspects. I dont have one specific area of pain, as I get a surprise every day as to where I'm going to be in pain, and it can be multiple places too. As for meds, well I've been on amitriptyline 60mg, naproxen, duloxetine 120mg, tramadol, paracetamol and ibuprofen 60mg. Am back on amitriptyline starting at 20mg and I dont know how much more I can deal with pain.

Thank you for reading and gentle hugs to you all

Hi, and a very warm welcome to the forum. You'll find a lovely bunch of people here who are friendly and will do their best to help with any questions you may have.

If you go to our mother website at fmauk.org you will find lots of useful info. If you look at the banner running across the top of the page on the website I mentioned you'll see the word Information. Click on that and there's loads of useful stuff. xx

Bless you, I totally hear you. I’ve tried Amitriptyline and Gabapentin but now I’ve just started natural stuff after hours of researching on ways to treat these awful symptoms naturally; Ashwagandha (helps me sleep better and has a calming effect so I deal with the pain better), magnesium citrate (essential for relaxing the nerves and muscles), Panax Ginseng (a study has proven its efficacy, helps sleep and pain), D-Ribose (gives muscles energy, apparently Fibromyalgia sufferers don’t get sufficient energy in muscles), good quality probiotics (sometimes the root cause can be from an underlying Candida issue, this is partly my cause plus two traumatic accidents), curcumin (definitely helps with pain slightly), magnesium oil spray for the skin (seems to ease my hip and back pain after applying).

Maybe try some of these if pharmaceuticals don’t work?

All of this won’t work overnight so I’m giving it another 2-3 months for them to work and if there’s no improvement, then I’ll try other pharmaceuticals as a last resort.

Epsom salt baths also help before bed as the magnesium from the salts really relaxes muscles.
