I think the relief of getting an answer and to know you are not mad is a real positive. Welcome to the club.

in reply to

Thanks for asking lately I've been really good I've changed my diet an it's working the only downside is I love food but you can't have everything the main thing I feel better

in reply to

That's brilliant I have ibs because if fibromyalgia lots of us get it I have to change diet I it's stay away from high fibre I'm happy ur feeling better the indulgence of our favourite foods isn't worth the gutt ache xx

Amitriptyline is better to take long term zopiclone is terribly addictive and isn’t advisable you take every day or for a long time

in reply to

Ok thank u I will stop zopiclone and start amitryptline as Rhumatologist said xxx

This is true Zoonie. I take both but amitriptyline I take every day without fail zopiclone is a controlled drug so you only get limited amounts from doctors anyway so I only take it occasionally at a weekend

😂😂to be told it's anxiety is a bit of a joke really atleast we have a. Name and can get on with it 😘 Cheese burger it is x

Precisely, not sure what dose others are on but I only take 20mg a day

You are medication free Zoonie? How did you do that? impressive! that’s been my ultimate goal for many years but with other health conditions I don’t have a hope in hell. However I think it’s amazing you hAve gone med free

in reply to

I no it is amazing but if we need it we need it any thing to take the edge of this b?????d maybe one day wel be cured x I take 4 co codamol and sertraline and now amitryptline some days I feel like I should be on tramadol or morphine but we shall soldier on xx😘

i was diagnosed at 17 and put on 101 different tablets i pretty much rattled when i walked. They kept having to up my Amitryptaline because it wasn't as effective. One thing to bear in mind is the side effects, i started having really bad nightmares and was really jumpy during the day so i decided to go med free as well. I think it is do able but can some days be a struggle, don't be afraid to say " i'm having a bad day" and if you need to stay in bed :)

in reply toDIYER94

Thanks mate apreciate it I slept ok last night no night sweats !!must of been the zopiclone giving me them xxxx I'm to mental to not have tablets right now but hopefully one day I won't be on as much currently on co codamol sertraline and amitriptyline xxxx

I don't take medication ether only paracetamol used to take 8 a day now 2-4 unless it's a really bad day learned to manage my pain with exersize relaxation hydrotherapy and mindfullNess .it's better than having the side effects of the medication on top of everything else hope everyones having a good day

I think if and when I'm on my death bed the morphine won't work for pain if I have it now so il just stick to co codamol xx😆

Well, not good news but at least you now have some answers and a site with plenty of support to offer. Medication wise, it's all hit and miss. xx

in reply tobobbybobb

bobbybobb in reply to

The are free sleep apps you can down load, they help some people. xx

in reply tobobbybobb

If I don't sleep I'm 1000 times worse I have to work and do school run to so i can't rest during the day xxxx

I tried Them but they didn't work of a night and worked the following day and made me very drowsy so didn't take them. The Doctor once tried me on Zopiclone but I only slept for 3 hours continually and you can't take them every night. So It wasn't worth taking them. So, I don't take anything. xx

Congratulations, Zoonie!!

Before coming off Duloxetine, I researched the S and N in SNRI and decided to take some amino acids that do a similar job.

Outcome: unable to come off Dulox in November, came off - successfully - in January.

Still take 30mg Codeine as required (when I've worked out nothing else will help), but probably 1 or 2 per week (max) and not the 2 every 4 hours I'd been on for 9 years.

As you know, I came off Tramadol and maxi-Tram last Summer.

I then came off pre-gablin after about 7 years.

I am not pain-free, but I'm no longer terrified I can't make it stop.

Before anyone asks, I've been diagnosed with:

Chronic Pain Syndrome with FM,

CFS / post viral ME,

Osteoarthritis with spondylosis of the neck, (with those funny boney bits growing out the side),

Arthritis of hips, knees and feet,

Mucked up toes (long story, they got cut off and stuck back on, twice and the bits of Lego used to re-attach them is now rotted.... eeek!)

Tendonosinossss (?) of wrists, elbows and shoulder (which I think is 'just' FM, but... )

Anxiety and Depression..... (with MY sense of humour...?!....)

A form of PTSD (from being tortured by a teacher at age 8... but that's another story)

I'm not showing off, but I now take no meds on a daily basis, "just in case".

I can't tell you guys how I did it until I've seen my GP (12 week waiting list here, due to see him 4 April). But, there is hope.......

Good luck, Zoonie, please PM me if there's ANYTHING I can do to help!!

dx

I have exact same issues !! Which amino acids are you taking? The docs put me on antipsychotic a year ago I’m not bipolar or anything they said would help but it wrecked my hormones and guts it’s never been the same on tummy meds which I’m stuck on now. Feel gross. Would you mind sharing what ones you’re taking and your diet ? Would be grateful. I find same Tylenol with codiene.

I've just posted a really long response to Zoonie on a PM. Too tired now to write more. I WILL get back to you on this, but I really can't say too much until I've seen my GP in April... the AAs I'm taking and the doses may not be safe and I'd rather put off 'advertising' them too much until I know my information won't do you any harm.

If you are happy doing your own research, look up what you see as your symptoms and how they may be impacted by the imbalances in your levels of:

- Serotonin

- Epinephrine (Adrenaline)

- Norepinephrine (Norardrenaline)

- Testosterone / Progesterone / Estrogen

- Cortisol

- Thyroid hormones

where an imbalance may be that level is too high, or too low to do its job, or is out of synch with its 'mate'' i.e. dominates or is dominated by the hormone / neurotransmitter it should be working with. (N.B. Many of the list, above, are hormones when they're in the blood, and then become neurotransmitters in the brain or nervous systems. They are built from Amino Acids)

In the short-term, a good, full spectrum, free form Amino Acid complex will help restore some of the levels, which are reduced by age, lack of quality sleep, pollution, diet, depleted gut flora and STRESS. The one I use is by G&G supplements which I buy on-line.

Also, be sure to eat your green veg, loads of protein (amino acids are proteins), take 50mg Vit B6 and 500mg Vit C to help the chemical reactions work that turn amino acids into hormones, and a good probiotic, with prebiotic (I like Inulin as it also acts as a sugar replacement) to give the aminos a place to grow!

I'll be back with more once I know it's safe..... and continues to be as effective as it feels now.

(BTW. I had an infected wisdom tooth out part-way. Although the infection was dormant, it may have had something to do with it... who knows.... but I'll help if, and when, I can).

Hugs, dx

Ok I appreciate that. I’ve been reading up as well on very same things so I was wondering how you were doing taking. I have migraines right now so my research is on hold lol. I think my cortisol is messed up. Trouble with my greens from reflux ibs from meds stress from the meds. I’ll look up that company thank you !! Keep in touch ! I think why fibro do well with paleo diets!!
