Help..Just Some Advice

I am on here for various reasons, including mental as well as physical.

I am in need of hugs and advice. I am very upset at the moment but trying to keep it together.

Got letter solicitors on Friday saying will get a court date for repossess house. Have had one pre lit letter in December in small print which I can't read, so returned asked for in large print and said DWP pays the mortgage interest, which they do. I didn't get a response or the letter in large print. Nationwide aware to send in large print and of our full circumstances.

Responding to solicitors, asking time to get legal help and briefly our circumstances and why not in large print? That was Friday. The email address was so small I put it down wrong and had to redo it! I had to use a microscope to see it.

Today court papers arriving date hearing of 6th February in the morning. My husband cannot get ready by the time and nor can I due to both our problems. I am mentally wrecked.

I am also a lot of pain.

Can you just keep me in mind.

Thanks

Had not even thought of this, yes, thanks will do that tomorrow, they are easier to get hold off in the morning. Have had our benefits person refer to debt counsellor but can't see us for two weeks. They are asking court move date. I wanted to sell up last year but husband was having cancer treatment and the woman from Nationwide arriving on doorstep no warning to demand evidence of SMI payment despite me asking her not to come but will send in post, on the first day of his treatment. We had literally been home five minutes. She demands an appointment and would not accept he couldn't make one as had to go every day and was too tired. I came to door and chasing her. We put in a complaint which eventually went to the Ombudsmen.

Yes, we are correct the payments had been lost by both them and the DWP who paid the wrong people. SMI payments being made now so this is something of a mystery. Well the legal person can sort it, I have no more energy.

I will ask council as well.

Cheers.

I don't think they would accept but it's up to a judge. If the DWP are making payments that may settle it. Anyway, we have a few ideas. Our rep is contacting us tomorrow and making an appointment. A request to delay hearing has been made. Last time we got time as a number of issues. I am confident it will be the same and we can come to an arrangement. Thanks, we will be fine.

Hi there. Just a thought, if you have trouble with your eyesight, have you thought of contacting RNIB? I used to volunteer for them through their local group for the visually impaired. You don’t have to be “blind” to get help from them. Ours provided aids such as magnifying glasses, bright light lamps etc. if you at least have help being able to read these letters, it may cut down the time for getting your problems sorted. Not an answer to your particular problem but it may help. Good luck!

Thanks, I have applied to a local charity for help who specialises in mortgage and other arrears who pay them directly for a period of one year to two years. Awaiting the forms. I will look into your suggestion, thanks.

This is AWFUL. You poor people - get onto your MP straight away ! Have you tried citizens advice for legal aid. Also, McMillans nurses can help with financial matters if your husband has cancer.

I really feel for you. I hope you get this sorted out. Big hugs.

Our benefits maximising team are referring us to them and I think we have an appointment next week. Unfortunately today my mum fell and we had to go to hospital. That took most of the day. I will give McMillan a call tomorrow, thanks.

Yes, thanks, she is bruised and a nurse is coming on Friday, she is 92_then on that day. We are getting her some home care mornings and to help put her to bed.

Responding to anyone telling you that you owe a bill and claiming they will take you to court or repossess your things is not a good idea. First, contact YOUR people and NEVER the people that are threatening you. Also, HOVER, DON’T CLICK ON IT. If it is a long or strange email for them, THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!

If you can get someone to read these things, please do.

HUGE HUGS, from TX,

Tammy
