What are the best Fibromyalgia Meds?

I have Fibromyalgia as well as other health issues but I would like to know of the best meds to take. I am on Thyroxine and have painkillers only to be taken when pain is unbearable (Zapain and Naproxen) Now don't condemn me, I like a beer so what can I ask my doctor for without getting spaced out on it because back pain is always there and pain in my arms but I am not allowed my painkillers. Thanks all.

the answer unfortunately is it depends on what will work for you. You may need to try a few before you find out what works for you. No one drug / treatment works for everyone in most conditions and it is especially true in fibro.

Hi, I take nortryptaline for my pain every night. It seems to work quite well for me although I am never pain free. I think we all like a drink and rightly so, we still need to do things we enjoy.

I can only have 2-3 drinks on my tablets as I take loads, too many and I feel really sick.

Tell your doctor you need help with your pain, there will be a medication out there that will suit you so don’t suffer in silence xx

If the GP tries something and it's not working, it's important to keep going back because there are quite a few medications they can try, to help you. What might work for one, might not work for another. x

I think you have your priorities right in wanting to have a tipple and dealing with the pain. I read a study somewhere that said fibro patients who have 2 drinks a day were happier and more pain free than the non-drinkers. Why aren't you allowed pain killers?? I can do quite nicely with my medicinal quota of drink and manage well with tramadol and paracetamol, after all there is life to be lived outside this illness 🍷🍾🍻

healthunlocked.com/fibromya... Hello, as Desquinn has already said trial and error really till you try a med that sits well with you, a path alot of us seem to go on reading peoples posts here on the forum, yes a lot of medications can limit a persons drinking, I am told by my doctor that an odd glass of wine or drink is okay on my current meds so tastes really nice and appreciated when I do allow myself . I’ve posted a link above should you wish to lock you posts as then only our community can see and gives you and other members more privacy. Take care.
