Different things work for different people. Personally, I use medication, pacing, exercise /activity, mindfulness, distraction techniques, complementary therapies, aromatherapy products etc

Hello to you both and welcome to this lovely site where we all know exactly what you are going through.

I think we all deal with the pain in different ways as everyone has different levels of pain here.

Trial and error is how I deal with it. You can get lots of ideas from others here.

I've been trying CBD oil lately (5%) and it has helped me by taking the edge off the pain. It needs to be a good quality one and may cost a fair bit but I personally think it's worth it.

Try not to stress about things as it makes it worse. Listen to your body and rest when you need to. I use Amitriptyline at night to help me sleep. Speak to your gp for advice.

Read through other posts on here and you will find great ideas or just ask a question and someone will probably have an idea/experience.

I wish you well, it's not easy. Be good to yourself.

Big hugs

Warmth via wheat bags helps, amitriptyline at night either 50 or 75mg's. Compression gloves on my hands to stop them looking like under cooked sausages and a back brace...

Hope you find what helps you....also art as a distraction...xx

Been thru all the prescription s from gp Gabapentin Pregabalin Amiptriptylene Naproxene Co - codamol , Tramadol etc but all have their own side effects so now just take codeine when i absolutely need it, Zopliclone if i desperately need a full nights sleep & now trying Valium as a muscle relaxant

Take lots of vitamins & supplements & pace pace pace

Just find what works for you but dont get over reliant on prescription drugs. They bring their own problems & with fibro you have enough to deal with

Hi julieahanson13,

I was on just co-codamol (high dose) for a long time for chronic back pain, way before the diagnosis for Fibromyalgia came along. Now, I am combining that with Gabapentin. I must admit that the Gabapentin side effects were a bit off the charts initially, but the benefits outweighed the side effects for me in the end and have calmed down anyway.

The Co-codamol helps me to spend longer outdoors but never completely eradicates the lower back pain but the Gabapentin seems to work on some of the Fibro effects, again not all but between them both, I have a better management of pain than before.

I've also found that resting every couple of days means I have more stamina and energy to do things, so I guess that means a bit of pacing with my activities.

Hope that helps.

Best Wishes x
