Hi all my doctor as recently prescribed preglabolin and stopped my co codomol 30/500mg abruptly. I've been on them for years as they are the only pain relief that agree with me. Thought I should be slowly weaned off them, worried over withdrawal symptoms anyone else been through this x

healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., morning if you have any concern s ring your surgery when it opens for advice that way you will feel more assured if doctor can give you a call back ,surgeries can normally allocate a time slot for a call back when doc had finished his/her surgery, take care x I have also posted a link above if you would like to lock your posts as that way only our community can see and not open to any other site engines on the internet.

Hi 1947jones

Hi also was on co-codamol for many years. My pain specialists told me u can’t have them both somthink about writing each other out.So I now take pregabin and no co-codolmil.Problem is co cocadmol helped with my chronic shoulder and lower back pain I told pain specialist he just doesn’t want to know☹️

Hi Chance15 yep I'm in exactly the same my main pain is in my left shoulder and neck the preglabolin isn't helping with the pain as of yet though my fatigue seems a little better. On other fybro sites people have told me they are on both drugs . Did you have withdrawal symptoms if you don't mind me asking x

U no wat pisses me of wen u go to doctors b4 u open ur mouth they blame the fibromyalgia in other words they can’t be bothered.I have many words with doctors over time.Yhey are a waste of yes our tax payers money.

I am on both plus a few others for pain.

I have been on both for a number of years. I do have osteoarthritis as well which was what the cocodamal was originally prescribed for. I decided to cut them down and found that my fibro pain increased so they must have been doing that some good as well.x

Request a different type of pain med they shouldn’t have just given you oregano in and not a pain medication

I too was abruptly stopped .after talking to g.p began a agreed reduction plan. This took five months to complete. Still have tramadol for pain .Yet having to manage with increased mobility issues as pain has become difficult to override an push through. Codrydomol definitely helped my tollerence of pain .no suitable alternative offered except duloxitine. Totally refused as side effects horrendous. Advice from my pharmacist was avoid completely.

Yep my rheumatoligist prescribed Duloxitine did not agree with me also Gabapentin which my optician said was no good for my connective tissue disorder in my eye. Tried alsorts and the co codomol is the only pain relief that seems to help to a degree but hey ho doctor knows best X

This is a problem. Pharmacists know far more about side effects and interactions of drugs than GPs

GPs seem to be panicking about opioid neds right now, and cutting us off. I have Co-dydramol, but I ration them severely, to the point where I am just finishing a 2 year old prescription. I will only take a single dose when absolutely desperate. Otherwise I take Ibprofen, a bit iffy, as I have ideopathic asthma, but they seem to work fine.
