I’ve woken up every morning for the last 2 weeks with a headache and frequently before that. It’s driving me crazy.
The last two mornings I’ve had morning meetings at one of our sites 15 miles away and the drive is killing me. Thankfully at base all of next week which is only 5 mins from home so that’s a relief.

If you are getting lots of headaches, I think It's it's something you should get checked out with your GP. There are different types of headaches and different reasons why you get them. They may not be associated with Fibromyalgia.
If you have fibro, like me, your muscles at the back of your neck tighten in the night , these muscles go up in a "V" shape into the skull and cause this, tell your g.p,, you can get simple excercises to stretch those muscles,, he might give you Sumatriptine to stop the onset getting worse
Ah ok. Just found out on Friday I’ve got Fibro so still learning! I have Sumatriptan as I get migraines but these are normal headaches. I’ll see about getting my other half to massage my neck on a morning and see if he can loosen the muscles a bit. Thanks for that info, very useful.
Yes. Had them every day since May. Saw a physio that helped with stress part and gave me neck stretching exercises. But headaches still happening. Saw consultant and had MRI, nothing found. So diagnosed with New Daily Persistent Headaches, just another label that means we don't know what is wrong with you. Their only solution is to increase my noratryptiline steadily to see if it helps. Or hope it goes away by itself.
Hi. Yes I frequently am woken by severe head pain, if I move it pounds and also can upset my stomach. I too get migraines but the sumatriptan does not help so I don’t think it’s that. The thing that helps me is to really concentrate on my breathing and relaxation, take a couple of paracetamol and stay in bed until it subsides. I am fortunate in that I’m retired so have no time constraints so really feel for you having to get up and go to work.
Yep headaches were often a problem for me until the pain management clinic prescribed injections into the back of the head and various trigger points in my neck and shoulders. The head ones stopped the headaches but the neck and shoulder ones didn't work Still more than happy not to have the headaches for the time being. Waiting now to see how long the injection lasts.
Yes, me the same. I have to be careful not to overstretch my neck and shoulders and get the head aches and pain.
I have found an electric heat and massage collar helps and am using it every day. Pain is always worse first thing in the morning and makes me feel sick.
