Headaches

I’m suffering really bad with frequent headaches at the moment. GP has put it down to my fibro but I find them hard to treat. Paracetamol do zilch. They can last for days. Start off when I wake up and my neck and head will feel so stiff. Does anyone have any remedies?

Oh these are nasty. I recommend trying an acupressure pillow. You don’t sleep on it, you use it for about 10 mins. They basically relieve tension in the neck which then frees up the head. I’ve found mine invaluable. Just buy a cheap one on Amazon if you fancy trying it.

I know it sounds a bit odd - believe me I was massively skeptical - but I’ve found it very useful 🙂 I have an acupressure mat for the rest of my body too.

Those kind of tension headaches are the pits you have my sympathy. The only meds I can take are a low dose relaxer. These are the only things that help relieve the tension in my neck muscles. I also place heat across the shoulders and neck.

If you don’t mind me asking, what do you take? & do you use heat packs?

No I don't mind :) I take prescription Diazepam and 2 OTC antiflams. And for heat I just use the good old fashioned hot water bottle xx

Sometimes changing your pillows can help, most of us could open a shop with the amount of different pillows we have, also I find using magnesium oil on my neck & shoulders helpful. Heat packs you put in microwave on back of head, top of neck can help too, I got one from wilco that's a good length . Or use a damp towel then wrap in another towel after heating in microwave, works just the same. x

Hi I had a phase of continued headaches last year for over two weeks. My daughter is a reiki practitioner and she performed a treatment and the headaches disappeared almost immediately.. I appreciate that you can't try this at the moment due to covid restrictions but it may be worth considering in the future. Hope you feel better soon
