Help please

Hi everyone hope yr all as well as can be. I'm wondering if anyone else has appealed for a reconsideration with regards to PIP. The reason I'm asking is I have been awarded enhanced mobility and standard living component same as I were when I was on DLA. I'm wanting to ask if my claim for living component can be looked at again reason why is I've been awarded 11 points out of 12 looking through my notes theve sent me it said i need no help to administer my medications nothing about my husband having to help me with applying the cream I have to use for my sore dry skin. If I ask them to reconsider would they go all way through the help I need for the living component or just at the points that I've pointed out to them. I'm happy with getting same as I had before with DLA but I'm now wondering why this has been overlooked. Family n friends have told me to go ahead. I'm just worried I may get penalised for it. Anyone help me please.

No you should not be penalised. But do not focus on one point. Download a copy of the descriptors and look at all the points for care a d see that they have not missed anything else.

Hi Badbessie

Thanks for the advice I will double check all the points theve noted and take it from there. This has been 1 long drawn out process which started in March. Really appreciate your help on this one.

Kind regards

Cheryl

Going from DLA to PIP myself. I was given an indefinite award and had not heard from them in years. In March I went through ESA and was placed yet again in the support group. With PIP I asked Age UK for help as the whole process was making me ill . They have been truly excellent. I wish you the best of luck. Points to remember are your medications in a dosset Box? If they are are why? Have you ever forgotten your medications or taken too much? Are you on the maximum dose of your pain killers. Both Fibromyalgia and your medications could make you unsafe to administer your medications yourself and your husband could monitor them due to your poor memory at times. Obviously your husband applying your cream needs looking at . The big question is why. Is it due poor movement due to pain. Can you not reach certain areas. If you cannot reach certain areas due to pain etc then you could need help dressing. If they have given you points for needing help dressing or washing then obviously you would need help applying cream in some areas. It may take your husband 20 miNutes to apply the cream which you may not be able to do due to pain or fatigue. Basically without him your skin could break down and your health could be compromised.

Look at everything.

Hi

I know what your saying problem is I had help filling forms in and we covered all this as I'd done a diary weeks ahead so I was prepared with the answers on what I could and couldn't do how long it took and what I needed help with. So confusing and really stressed with it all.

Thanks again

Thanks Ajay

I'm going to look at my award notes that have been noted and make sure nothing else has been overlooked and take it from there.

Appreciate your help.

Kind regards

It could go either way. You could go up to enhanced rate, or you could lose everything. I've been told they also look at the other component as well as the component you query, but I don't know if that's right.

I do however know someone who asked for a mandatory reconsideration and they lost both components completely and had to take it to appeal (which they did win), but it was a very long drawn out and stressful process.
