PIP MADATORY RECONSIDERATION!

Well I received my M R letter. Very confused!

Telling me they cannot award me pip for your daily living I scored 8 points??

Awarded 2 points more than the first decision!

Awarded 4 points for mobility

0 on the first letter.

I have looked at the information we have and decided to change the original decision.

Then it states I cannot consider awarding you PIP for any help you need for anything not covered in the daily living or mobility activities.

But still saying I’m not getting anything.

Then there’s the last page stating -

Statement of entitlement 8 April 2019

This document contains details of you PIP award, as you’ve been awarded PIP you may be entitled to other benefits and services. You can use this document to show you’ve been awarded PIP.

Mr .... ........ has been awarded PIP as follows.

Then a blank page..

Has anyone else ever heard or had this?

Help please.

Ring them

I think you need twelve points ,there was someone on here that had more points awarded on one sheet but on the other zero they were getting it checked out so I haven't heard the outcome yet.

Hi curkybacks, it clearly states between 8 and 11 points for standard rate daily living and the same for mobility.

And I was trying to help you there's no need for rudeness to me is there or it certainly seems that way.

Apologies I wasn’t being rude I have just stated what’s on the letter.

Sorry if it came across as rude.

Okay I accept and understand, eh perhaps you could ask administration if they are able to check or recall a similar thing last half of last year, that persons letter stated they had points in one letter but had not been awarded it but points in other letter very similar to yourself

Hi it’s 11 points for standard daily living . 12 points or over for enhanced and 8 points for mobility standard care and over 8 points on mobility is high rate hooe that helps

Hi Nelly, that is a rather confusing letter to say the least. If they have awarded you 8 points you should get standard rate. Has it states you need between 8/11 points for this and that's what you have. Obviously you won't get anything for the mobility part.

I would get on the phone first thing Monday morning and ask them to clarify what they have put in the letter :)

Phoned them twice today and phoned appeals, no one can give me any answers! They are saying I know have to go to appeal ! What a joke?

What a total waste of time and money when it clearly states on the letter she has changed the decision. I’m so Angry with them.

Appeals cannot help me as I’m not actually in appeal!

Oh wow, that's really strange. I don't understand that. I would call again and ask to speak to the manager. Or someone who knows what is going on. I can only imagine the stress your under right now xx

Hi Dizzytwo,

I have spoken to 3 different people in the same department today and not one of them could give me a straight answer! Appeals said I need to appeal! Lol

That's what I mean. If you call on a diffrent day you may get a different person. Who knows you may just get a payment. Or you could try asking a different question. May try asking now you have a letter saying you have been awarded the middle rate. Could they tell when to expect payment. They may go check out your record and say if you have been awarded it or not maybe?

Thank you, my head is all over the place after 3 phone calls, 45 minutes to 1 hour wait for each to actually talk to someone, I’ll have a clearer head tomorrow and start all over again 😡

You could go on line Nelly and put in a complaint. After all you are dealing with a call center I believe. And they will only be able to give you a standard reply I guess. This is why I would either insist on speaking to the manager or putting in a complaint. This is only my opinion. But I had to do this when dealing with the call center for pip.

Thanks, didn’t know you could complain online? Thought you had to write to them?

I will try again tomorrow morning and insist on talking to a manager.

I did it by email to the complaints dept of Atos if I remember rightly. But don't quote me lol Good luck.

8 points gets you lower rate daily living unfortunately nothing for mobility,if you have medical evidence might as well go all the way now to tribunal

It sounds as if the person keying the info to go in the letter got interrupted and did not finish it. Give DWP a call or write to them for clarification. If you get nowhere, invoke their complaints procedure and make sure your letter is headed COMPLAINT in large letters.

Hello, you must phone DWP and ask to speak to some one who can explain the contents of your award notification letter.

Hi

Just checked my PIP award letter and the same words regarding cannot consider awarding PIP is included.

This simply refers to things that are not covered in the daily living activities.

You have been awarded the daily living element at the standard rate.

Regards

Tom

I now apparently have to go to appeal because they have messed up the paperwork! What an absolute waste of time and money.. it’s a joke!

Finally after 3 days of calling PIP I managed to speak to a case manager!

I have been awarded standard rate on daily living despite my letter saying I cannot award you anything.

Apparently the system has generated a lot of incorrect letters! Why are these letters not checked before they go out?

I can finally try to now get over the 10 months of stress and anxiety they have put me through on this, my review started in July 2018.

So to all - Do not give up on your appeals and MR’s, they do work sometimes if you have the strength to fight for what your rightly entitled to.
