I hope everyone will get this. Ive had Fibromyalgia for about 4 years and get the usual- chronic pain, exhaustion, brain fog. BUT none of this is VISIBLE. My daughter is getting married, I want to look nice. I used to wear heels. I want to wear heels. But I have such chronic pain in my big toe that I can't bend my feet enough to wear heels( osteoarthritis and Fibro). If I wear flat shoes there will be questions, as I always used to wear heels as I'm tiny, which I don't want to answer as it's my daughter's wedding. My rheumatologist prescribed Capsaicin cream, but it's out of stock everywhere. Does anyone know of a very temporary miracle cure that will reduce the pain just for one day. It sounds daft...

Not sure if you have it in your country but Zostrix is a capsaicin cream found in some drugstores. Otherwise you may have more luck at a health supplement store. Good luck I’d take a pair of low shoes along saying you just have a sore foot .. all good who cares they’re thinking about the bride !
Thanks, I've ordered some capsaicin cream online but the dosage is lower. I have flat shoes for the reception. Just desperate to look nice for the ceremony and photos
I wonder if you could ask Someone that lives in diff city or call drugstore in diff city if they have it and explain situation you never know if you get lucky !! Good luck !!
my doctor prescribed capsaicin a very strong version can only get it on prescription. personally I do not think much of it, just like putting a hot bandage over pain
Hi My daughter just got married in a beautiful day in July. Like you I wanted to wear heels but feet pain stopped this. However before the wedding day I found a wedding shoe by Rainbow that was wide fitting padded and got them died to match my dress. Got them on line really cheap in TKMax.
However a couple of weeks before the wedding I needed my Thyroid bloods tested and it came back that I had Gout . I to take a high dose for three days
of Colchicine then one a day. After two weeks I had to also take 1 x Allopurinol. Once I started the gout treatment almost instantaneously my feet and big toes that had arthritis in them were pain free and for some reason they also but reduced all the other fibromyalgia joint pains.
If it wasn’t for the blood test I wouldn’t have know about gout in my toes. I was able to walk tall most of the wedding day and only later at night did I need a smaller heel. But so did all the other guests.😂 Maybe worth getting your GP to test for gout and you walk tall on your daughters wedding day. 💕
If this has come on recently like one of the otherkind posters said it could be goat as periodically I get this in my big toe. The precription Capsican cream seems to be out of stock in all the warehouses, my friend was told by Boots, LLoyds and independent chemist the same thing and it could be a couple of months before it comes back in! I would go to your doctors to see what the problem is as we can tend to put down every new symptom to fibro and that isn't always the case. If you are in agony at the wedding it will more than likely show on your face so I would go for a lovely pair of flat heels. Because of a bad back I haven't been able to wear heels for years but did get away with a pair of wedge sandals for a wedding I had to attend as it seemed to put less pressure on my back and as the toe was open didn't make my big toe worse. Hope you enjoy the big day.xx
I used to have really bad pain in my big toes but after having Reflexology they are much better. I used to always wear high heels but haven't been able to for a couple of years now.
What a ridiculous world we live in. I don't own 'heels' and always wear shoes that are comfortable. I don't really worry about clothing etc so when issues such as yours crop up, I feel so shocked that there is so much pressure on us to conform to other people expectations.
I hope you figure it out and you and your family have the most beautiful day.
I have some advice for you, I have in the past had people who ask questions that are invasive, prying and just plain rude. How I respond, I completely ignore what they said and just move the conversation along. Most people are not so rude that they would keep repeating themselves. But if they do, you are allowed to say for example, I don't want to discuss that with you but it is very kind of you to think of me. I alwys make sure in potentially difficult situations, I have my responses ready :).
We are suffering enough and do not deserve people prying into our business.
It's kind of you to reply. But I have no issue. I WANT to wear heels if I can. For ME. Just as I want to wear a nice dress rather than my dressing gown.
You might be able to try CBD ointment. Just a thought not sure if it would help with your toe pain. It does help my muscle pain might be worth the try good luck hope you feel better
