Hi

I really feel for you, you are so young to have to cope with thise. What has your Dr given you in the way of pain relief? I have many painful conditions like I'm sure you do too. Life can be very cruel at times. You can om me if you like?

I'm sure there will be someone who comes along with some better advice than I can give. Please take care. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Sorry you had to miss out on your friends 21st. Has your GP discussed or tried any medications to try and help you get your symptoms under control.

And while the last thing you will be wanting to do when in so much pain is move, if your muscles are weak then the best thing you can do is very slowly and gradually increase the amount of activity /exercise you are currently doing which will help to strengthen the muscles. And the more you do the more you will likely find you are able to do.

Pacing is also very important. Do an activity in small chunks, taking time to rest in between. Try not to push yourself to far past your limits or you end up on a vicious cycle of crash and burn.

Try self management and pain management techniques.... These might not take your symptoms away but can help ease them in the short term. The Pain Toolkit is an excellent resource (paintoolkit.org)

Also try and make time to spend with your friends.... If you don't feel up to going out, maybe watch a dvd or something at home xxx

Hi Annab124, I'm sorry to hear how tough things are for you at the moment. I remember being 21 and in too much pain to be able to socialise. Feeling like I was missing out, but also unable to just have fun and I didn't want to bring the group's mood down.

I learned to heal and I believe there is a lot you can do to help yourself....

Look at a bit of anatomy, find the 5 main muscles of movement on your body and focus on using them to their full extent.

Starting from, and always working from, your Base-Line muscles:

Pelvic floor "Base" - the base foundation for all movement.

Rectus abdominis "Line" - our core pillar of strength that should support the rest of the body.

Think Base-Line - stronger and longer with every in breath.

By focusing on using my Base-Line muscles and practicing the roll-down action I build the connection between body and mind.

Feeling how to move in order to regain my natural range of movement. Slowly releasing the physical restrictions on the body that were the source of so much pain.

Read my other posts, look at the anatomy, find the 5 main muscles on your body and think about them working. (rectus femoris, gluteus maximus and trapezius muscles being the others after pelvic floor and rectus abdominis muscles. )

It takes time and effort to learn to use this muscles fully but it was so worth it!

Good luck.

First thing first (((hug))) 🤗💕🦋🌻🌷💜 My heart goes out to you you are too young to have to be living in so much pain. A couple of questions, 1. Do you have thyroid disease? 2. Have you ever had a nerve conduction test? ( I have had a few over the years it isn’t as bad as people make it out to be.) 3. Do you have diabetes type 1? I don’t have diabetes but do have neuropathy. Which later I learned that I learned that thyroid disease can cause neuropathy. Lately it has been flaring. The pain has been worse in the last week or 2. I recommend talking to your doctor about the pain you are experiencing. 🤗💕🦋🌻🌷💜

We all feel for you, i think. Especially at such a young age. Dont know what meds your on, but my weakness, fuzzy head, confusion and tiredness all lessened with Pregabalin. Im on a fairly low dose, but its given me the extra omph to do a little Pilates and all tbe other things that i know are good, bit i never had the energy for. And i think the exercise helps with mindset as well as physical stuff. Makes me feel a little like my old self. I hope you find the right thing for you. X
