I am so relived I’ve been granted my pip can anyone explain to me if the care component is a added benefit I am currently on esa till the pip kicks in on 14 August

Hi daisey02 I was awarded the standard for living and enhanced for mobility

It's a separate benefit paid every 4 weeks

Hi glad you have been awarded PIP there are two parts, Mobility and the Care component, your letter will tell you which you have been awarded, it could be you have been awarded both Mobility and Care. You will receive this on top of your ESA which is a different benefit and not affected by your entitlement to PIP because PIP is not means tested. Hope this helps. Misty xx

PIP and ESA are two separate benefits and each has its own extra benefits which enable you to claim additional benefits. Contact your Cab who may be able to advise you on such matters.
