Hi everyone. Diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 months ago but would say I've had it over a year and was just wondering if anyone's experienced what I am. I know fibromyalgia and IBS go hand in hand but since Christmas my stomach seems to have gotten a lot worse. I've had stool sample checked and I've had full bloods and we're all clear apart from low vitamin d levels. But stomach is all over the place.
I'm never constipated, I go every day. But I have lots of gas, bloated, pain and visiting toilet 4-5 times a day,I rarely have a 'normal' bowel movement anymore (although what's normal with any part of fibro 😅) but sometimes the urgency is more heightened than others. And it's really starting to get me down.
Sorry for the tmi but I don't have anywhere or anyone else to ask

Try natural yoghurt or keffir. Even yakult but thats a bit pricey. Need to get some good bacteria back in the gut. Keep an eye on your diet & find your triggers. You really have to eat healthy to deal with fibro symptoms. Increase your magnesium & potassium if you're taking naproxen. Lots of help online Good luck
Only thing that helped me was giving up a Dairy Wheat and Soy,,, and I mean ALL!
Never in a million years will I do the band-aid drugs,, it would be different if I only had to take them for a short time and they were going to fix something,, but that is not the way it works.
you could try taking L-glutamine every day with breakfast,as it helps heal your IBS, a heaped teaspoonful in my morning mix worked for me, took about 6 months. also it helped to cut out eating and drinking anything that I noticed that made me feel bloated after I had eaten or drunk it, such as wheat, dairy, alcohol, sugar, caffeine, prepared foods, food and drink that have chemicals in them, everyone is different so you have to observe your own reaction to everything and make the changes over a period of time. you could also find out your blood type and check what food intolerances are generally associated with that.
I buy the powder from amazon or a health food shop and mix a heaped teaspoonful in my nutribullet mix in the morning, but you can just put the powder in a glass of filtered water and drink it.
All singular amino acids used for specific purpous are best utilised when taken away from food and on and empty stomach and waiting for at at least half and hour before eating .
Just remembered - bread. I have a real problem with digesting bread so i did some research & came up with the chorleywood method as the culprit. Introduced in 60/70's to mass produce the family loaf. It rushes the prooving needed to develop the yeast. All in the name of profit. Makes bread cheap & indigestible . Discovered its only suitable for toast. Well thats the only way i can digest it. So i switched to sourdough & The Polish Bakery. Now only available at Sainsbury coz Asda have stopped selling it. Also make your own soda bread - no yeast. Tastes like a big scone but no IBS. Hope this helps
Yes, I completely agree, I have recently switched from Chorleywood process bread to sourdough also and I find it much more digestible. Polish Bakery bread is also available at Tesco. They do some nice flavours. I also find that Brioche is also more digestible.
Exactly the same and my GP said it was the tramadol.
He gave me laxatives and said try and get a balance say taking the laxatives once a week just to loosen etc.
It has worked ! I take one per week and I’m not so bloated and full of gas. Worth talking to your GP. Failing that the GP said reduce the tramadol (easier said than done)
Good luck
I was the same until I gave up gluten. Not only improved my stomach but also cleared up the rosecea on my face, so it was win win. My sil has psoriasis and that improved when he gave up bread.
I took probiotics for a while but now just take one occasionally.
I have very similar problems have found taking high levels of vit D , taking mother of apple cider vinegar with boiled water in morning has helped my stomach. You have to give these things ago as we all react differently. Hope you find the right combination soon. Xx
