Brilliant work by both of you two guys! :) Thank You for the work you do and I hope you do not get too much fatigue and the canteen there doesn't run out of extra spoons for you :)

Is it just you two men holding the fort? Try for at least one lady, or it gives a biased appearance of the numbers relative to male and female sufferers.

Hello Midori

As you know desquinn is the Chair of FMAUK and Reece is a fairly new addition to the team. Previously when they have done exhibition or awareness stalls (before Reece joined) Hazel_Angelstar would be alongside Des. It just happened that as the charity organised this that only certain people were available to help. It is not intentional it is just a case of circumstances and FMAUK are trying really hard to attend this. I believe they have travelled a long way and as Des mentions spoons are limited but trying hard to speak to doctors, physios, and other health care professionals.

I understand what you are saying but also wonder if you would say this if it was 2 females manning the stall (pardon the pun). In a way, as male diagnosis of Fibromyalgia are low in comparison (reports say figures may be much higher in males than previously expected) and they think it's because they don't go to the DRs or feel the same pain on the Tender Point Test and a variety of other reasons. So, in a way weird way I think it's good to have 2 men at the show to reiterate that it affects both men and women, of course the information the share will say this. Yeah so I think it's good to have male representation :)

Hope this makes sense

Emma :)

Fair enough, It seemed that it was only the two men, so I sit corrected! I would love to be able to help out in some way, but am now in the far west of Wales, where we have a whole bunch of Medical problems with the Health Boards, including one Maternity Unit which has been placed in Special Measures! Scary stuff!

No worries better to explain that it was just circumstantial :) and that also often male representation is lacking and they will definitely stick up for us ladies too ! :)

Actually there are 3 men as Simon one of our trustees is here as an exhibitor as well. But for events gender does not factor at all. It is availability and capability. It was going to be a female regional coordinator and a female member of staff but things changed and we were the lucky ones πŸ˜‚

Thank you Emma, Would also add that Reece as our Comms apprentice does not have fibro either. This is a great bonus when I turn into a babbling idiot he can help.
