Hi there is help and support at the forum! If you have diagnosis you need a treatment plan. Ask to see Rheumatolurgy again if they do forget you are their patient. Meanwhile get informed. Long term health needs different strategy from just trolling up to a medic and saying what can you do? fmauk.org has a patient booklet well worth a read. There are loads of books on the market about Fubro and if there is a support group near you I would trip along and meet others they have local knowledge of good treatment. Fibro is unpredictable but classed as a disability. If you need benefits keep all your medical appointment letters as evidence towards a claim. Gentle exercise is suggested to ease stiffness and help mood. Some people find Pilates or Yoga helpful. Just pace yourself and ask family and friends for support. If you are employed make sure they note your diagnosis as some work place adjustments maybe required. e.g. If in a shop moving away from draughts.
My rheumatologist kicked me into touch once she had diagnosed me with fibromyalgia!! Think my Dr might have to refer me again. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Lots of us feel we are left to figure it out. N lots of us don't find meds helpful. For some they are even detrimental. Time to start your own research n figure what's best for you. Fibro has no effective treatment or cure, just things that MAY help some. Finding what helps is somewhat like kissing frogs to find your prince. Ew? Happy hunting.
