There is no age limit. I am 66 and have been awarded PIP for 10 yrs. So....a few more assessments ahead yet!

I was originally given it for life but when it changed to pip I had to start from the beginning. I am really fed up with the stress, waiting for replies etc.

Yup...so many of us were indefinite or for life but as PIP is a completely new benefit we are all invited to apply..

How long is yours awarded for?

I was allowed it again in 2016 for two years. I have sent my new application in 8 weeks ago still waiting for answer. no doubt it will be refused and I will have the dreaded face to face interview

What is Attendance allowance for them if not for those over 65. My mum gets AA and had never had to reapply surely it’s same as PIP in that it provides for every day needs x

Attendance Allowance only has one component...care. There is no mobility part.

If you reach retirement age while on DLA?PIP you carry on as long as you meet criteria.

If however you are not on either then you can only claim AA

I see thank you x

The Good news this week is no more f2f assessments for state pensioners from Spring. They will do a small review every 10 years. Xx

And the bad news...ESA and PIP to amalgamate into one assessment

There will be a new criteria amalgamating both benefits.
