Continuous assessments

I have had 3 assessments so far 2 for esa and 1 for pip in the last 2 and half years , I am also waiting on results of filling my 2 nd pip form out. I was awarded esa the first time round along with pip after having to go to court for both! What I am asking though how long does this go on for? My condition has detriated in the last 2 years so I don’t understand why we have to keep going back to be assessed! It is torture! Surely this can’t go on forever I am so stressed and keep having flare ups because of it all!! I honestly feel like I have to prove to everybody that I have this terrible painful condition all the time ! Please tell me the road gets easier sometimes I feel like saying ‘ stuff it all I’m going back to work’ ! But I know that is not possible! Xxx

I feel your struggle. I wrote my esa form out in Aug 2016 and I still haven't got it. How can they get away with doing this to the disabled. The reason my health has deteriorated is due to the stress and anxiety of it all. I'm so tired of fighting but know I have to. I hope one day they will actually realise it's a waste of their time too. Xx hope you get it xx

I know how you feel as do a lot of people on this site. In the space of 18 months I have had 4 assessments with 2 for esa and 2 for pip. I am a single mother (not my choice, he decided he wasn’t happy after 32 years together) and I am 48 years old. I have struggled with back pains since 16 and had one knee replacement at age 44 with another one due soon. The stress that the dwp continuously put on genuine people who are ill is just not fair. I have just recently been awarded pip at standard rate for 3.5 years and am in support group but no idea for how long

I wish you luck and hope you survive the scrutiny x

I hear you. It's exhausting, degrading, crazy-making. Not only do we have to lay bare our most intimate lives to people who often think we're faking, but they make us do it again and again and again... You're not alone. We're with you.

Think the DWP like to keep the NHS busy making all their claimants sicker.
