Hi everyone I am new on here. I have been suffering from Fibromyalgia for good couple of years but only got diagnosed recently.. I have always worked and absolutely love my job but was kind of forced to go on universal credits as I was self employed asa beauty therapist but had to cut down my hours due to this but they expect you to work 35 hours and earn certain amount regardless of what you actually earn so had no choice. No got RSA assessment next Friday really don’t know what to expect. On my good day ( which is only once or twice a month) I feel like superwoman and do anything and everything but bad day I can’t sleep , I can’t function, it’s pain full to even make cup of tea and putting washing on line is impossible. I do want to go back to work but feel I can only do nails and nothing else and even that I can only do 1 or 2 sets a day . Like one in late morning and one in evening because after just working on one client I am in agony , it takes me longer then it would do in past. I am perfectionist too. I can not increase my price because I am takin long time so I was not earning anything . I really don’t know what to do.

Hi I understand what u r saying I had to give up my job years ago , which I luved. It still haunts me to this day hope u have a good day take care
I'm so sorry to hear this. What medication has your gp gave U? Have you tried supplements. I take a magnesium supplement and d ribose (an amino acid). I'm like you some days I'm so bad it's painful to even brush my teeth and pull up my trousers. I am a nurse working long shifts. I have cut my hours down and my work mates are very supportive. I am currently off sick as I have fractured my t12 vertebrae. I'm worried I'm going to loose my job as I have been off a lot with fibro. I hope you can get benefits sorted as the stress won't be helping your fibromyalgia.
Hi Crystal, I can’t offer any insight but just wanted to say hope all went well for you x
I think it went well . I was having one of my worse day yesterday and nurse who saw me could see that so she didn’t even do my physical examination as she said she could see that I was in pain and extremely tired. She said she has put in her report that I couldn’t work but if I do choose to work then I was allowed up to 16 hours per week. I can only do about 6-8 so that’s ok. Waiting for the letter from DWP now so fingers crossed.
If assessor put on their report that you could not work like you say assessor told you That assessment is flawed when its looked at by a DM . Independent Case Examiner even told me so and also gave me a copy of guidelines that assessors have to follow
Not sure but I have had good experience tbh and got rewarded higher amount by decision maker. She told me that from what she put on that’s what I should get but final decision would be of DWP and seemed they agreed to her
