I felt like that for quite a few weeks but as it was starting to help the pain I stuck with it. Up until then I felt I was on another planet and all I wanted to do was sit around which was totally unlike me. I am still on a low dose 50mg in the morning and 75mg at night as anything higher than that makes me feel very slow again butmut isnthe only med that has helped with the burning shooting pains I get. I only went up in increments of 25mg.x

Hi rw I was hallucinating when upped amitrypline from50-100g in a hospital head rest ward,so I goes &tells nurse giving out meds and she gives me this look..,.as if she's never heard of that on that type of ward!!!I went and don't look at me like that,I wasn't hallucinating before I came on this ward until those meds were upped&the patients told me they've experienced same thing when thier dose was upped with quite a jump, she tells the Dr I was aggressive! Lol,I mean I couldn't get over her reaction on mental head rest ward for staff!anyways I refused the 100&75 was fine,I still think that was what stunted my baby's growth as I was pregnant and they had been used in pregnancies for over thirty years at the time. There was Clot's in her cord when she was born.

When you are given tablets by the gp and you read the patients information leaflet I am amazed any of us ever take the meds as the list of possible side effects are so long and mutually seems to make sense that if a dose is increased especially if there is a big jump in the dose the likelihood of having the side effects increases. Of course in hospital we don't get a chance to read these leaflets. Often the medics don't link the effects of drugs on developing babies and children until it is too late especially if people's fears are dismissed.x

Hi lightstar1, like Shenni, I am on Pregabalin, but it only dulls the pain not take it away.

I'm on 100mg three times a day, so take 300mg a day altogether. I didn't get many side effects, I get the feeling of not being with it now and then, usually when I'm having a flare up and I'm feeling unwell.

I also get dizziness, which is one of the side effects, but also comes with fibro, so I don't really know which is the cause.

I am also on Tramadol for times a day, so I take 400mg a day, plus Paracetamol.

The doc said if these don't work she doesn't know what to do as I can't take amitriptyline or any of that family of drugs, so she said there isn't anything else she can do, there's nothing else she can give me.

I don't believe that so will go back to the pain clinic and see what they have to offer.

If you persevere I think you'll find that the side effects will go. It takes a full month for it to start working properly, so give it a chance, you'll get there.

Please let us know how you get on. Sending love and gentle hugs ((❤)), Jen. 😊
