Hot Flushes

Does anyone here get hot flushes? I have been through the menopause years ago and all that stopped. Now it has started again and at fairly regular times of the day too. It is very uncomfortable, especially in this hot weather; and dangerous for me as I have a heart condition.

Iam 60 now and get hot flushes, I also get this over heating of my body the minute I open my eyes in the morning, I can't get out of bed until this passes..it makes me feel sickly too. I have fibro diagnosed last year, but had it longer, was masked by menopause symptoms, I also have a leaky heart valve, and hypertension, doc sending me to the menopause clinic, not sure what it all means either .

I do but I'm 48 and suspect it may be pre menopause and also the tramadol as that tends to cause hot flushes / sweating. Whatever the reason it's not nice.

I went through the menopause when I was 30 but still have hot flushes and head sweats some 30 years on which are very embarrassing especially when I am at work. I put it down to fibro. Going to the fibro clinic at Guys in a couple of weeks so will write it down and ask them to see if they can throw any light on it.

Would be interested to see what they say.

Hi mouse2 I only get them in the heat..so I've hated this past summer, it's so humid in this country as well. I became menopausal at 51 and 4 years on I'm still getting symptoms. It takes your body quite a few years to adjust to the menopause. X

Hi Mouse,

I am 68 years old, started my menopause at 54. The hot flushes come and go for a couple of years and bang they are back. I knew an old lady at 80 who said they actually never go away and then others never even get symptoms of menopause. That is how it is. One could take natural hormone replacement, but we take so much for fibro already - it just get's to be too much - money wise too.

Hi there,

Does Fibro give you hot flushes only lasting a minute or so and weird surge feeling through the body mainly the legs? It’s hard to explain the feeling but it’s very strange. Mainly I get in the morning on waking up. Sometimes my blood feels like it’s boiling inside especially in bed at night Just wondered if it was just me?

I get hot flushes .. And I am not in the menopause i wondered if it was Fibro related

I’ve been post menopause by a lot of years and still get them. Not as often as in menopause or as intense but im aware of them and among other things another worry. Have Polymyalgia and are on low predisolone but there’s more to just that. My head is on another planet aches and pains but never thought it would be fibromyalgia so I’m new to this concept
