I started my new job a month ago and loving the people and place although a lot of work to do to sort stuff out. Caught a cold and cough from one of the directors and carried on working through the runny nose etc but week last Wednesday every time I walked down the office it set me off coughing and I felt tired but not unwell. Didn't go to work Thursday and Friday last week and dr signed me off a week saying I had chest infection. Antibiotics haven't helped , back at Drs third ho sent me for chest X-ray and blood tests but said chest sounds ok but still coughing badly when I move about. Am fed up ! Can't do anything as it sets a bad coughing fit off. Need to go back to work Monday and now hubby has been put on a second disciplinary for an error at work ! He loves doing his job but hates his boss who he thinks picks on him cause he is not at fast as the younger ones. He has suffered with lack of confidence gift years and shakes and falls apart when he gets hauled in for a bolocking . I have told him to put a complaint in about his manager but he is now talking about resigning before he gets sacked I am stressing about him as he doesn't have a job to go to and he will not admit he has mental issues going on. He is very difficult to live with as he picks faults in everything I do and still expects me to do stuff even while off ill. He is very good at his job but his insecurities and pressures on the job are meaning he is making errors . I don't know what to do about him and it is not helping my issues !

The only advice I can offer is to tell your Husband to have a union rep with him at all meetings with management, this is his right. He should under no circumstances resign. I hope you recover soon xx

He is not a member of a union so it won't help but I am trying to persuade him to put a complaint in about his management as their work processes etc are putting undue stress on him and other members of the workforce who have already quit !
