Hi all , have been told by a friend who is on standard mobility that he gets car tax which is half paid for by mobility if on standard rate , he maintains he paid half up front by cheque and they finance the rest ,I just thought it might help people who have lost full mobility ,

This is from CAB.....

You will qualify for 'vehicle tax reduction' - 50% of the road tax - if you receive the mobility component of PIP at the standard rate. You cannot get this for the lower rate of DLA mobility component.

thank you bananas5

I am on the same but NO car tax allowance, however my car is Toyota Aygo which are No Tax for the life of the vehicle, very cheap to buy, very good on fuel, low insurance (provided you are a good driver with no penalties and claims) I think your info is not right.

See my reply...obviously if you have a low emission car where you don't pay tax anyway...it doesn't apply!

I,wondering if motability allows this?otherwise I think I might not get it coz my car is road tax free for life of the vehicle..I noticed when I took car to RRG there were many 66 reg on resale no car. Tax for life it may have been a 66 reg year offer..

Sorry I am not sure why you are concerned? It only affects those who pay car tax and as my earlier posts said...CAB confirmed this.

You have a tax free car for its life so how does it affect you?
