Hi, I am not sure how old you, or whether you are going through menapause, but that can make your hair start thinning. However, it Is very very common for Fibromites to have thyroid problems. My hair was falling out so much. During my yearly blood tests to check everything to make sure all my meds werent causing probs with liver and kidney, they found out that I had Hypothyroidism, which means it is low, so needed meds. You have to keep a regular check on it, but suggest you ask at your GP for Throid to be checked.

Hope you get it sorted out, as it is very distressing.

Thank you something to think about. I am 50, just concerned at the rate it’s falling out ATM. Wasn’t sure if it was a side effect of tablets but I will talk to the doctor about it. X

Get it checked but in my case it was.my pharmacist went home and googled what to give me for it,I mean how lovely was that? I can't remember name of it but it repairs the follicles it works.

Hi. I had this problem 20 years ago pre fm diagnosis. I had alopecia areata. At the time I had a lumpectomy and also kidney stones. I would urge you to see your gp and have your blood tested for anything underlying to be ruled out. I was 40 then and it seemed like the worst thing but my hair grew back and is still ok now. Don’t worry. Good luck x

Just wondering, did you have string pain in right side with the kidney stones? I have been getting a lot of pain in right side and rib cage area.

Hi. My hair started to full out really bad about 2 years ago. Blood test showed underactive thyroid so needed meds. I have blood tests every 3 months to keep a check on it. Since being on meds my hair has stopped falling out and has thickened back up slowly. Speak to your dr about it but try not to worry as stess can also cause it. I hope they get to the bottom of it soon for you xxx

Hi , I was having terrible trouble with my hair, my scalp was was driving me mad itching and my hair was coming out. My doctor who I must admit is open minded to alternate meds, told me to stop using convential shampoos and got me on to Hemp shampoo bars, also told me to eat 1 brazil nut, 4walnuts, 4Apricots and handfull of syrian Austrian Pumpkin seeds. All must be Organic he said or esle do not bother. I gave it a go and never looked back my scalp stopped itching my hair is healthy whats more the pumkin seeds helped me loose weight. I do take 75mg of drugs for my thyroid.

Worked for me, and nuts are good for you. He also said my nut taking was feeding my hair and helping mantain its colour as it boosts magnisium and copper he made me laugh when he said the proof was in the pudding as I have no grey at nearly 60. Not sure I belived that but it made me feel good

This is a very sensitive situation. Ladies and hair loss. We do not worry to see a chap who has shaved their pate due to hair going grey/loss do we? Not everyone with thyroid issues losses hair or not every one who loses hair has thyroid issues! Sometimes the body rejects hair follicles namely any form of alopecia . Maybe younger people i.e. under 35 are less bothered regarding hair completeness. They also dry or wear hair pieces of all colours of the rainbow. Think of patients with cancer and chemotherapy then consider how blessed you are?

Its where the rooot grows out of,I also find my hair is very dry and wirey right now I've have hair treatment on for two days to nourish the hair cause it just snaps off so easy,I'm just using double base I've used it before it's for excema ,that and dermol, but yes still go to your Dr for sure, they'll rule out some things then your mind will be at ease,by the way those two creams are for skin so I just thought well my scalp is skin I tried it out last year one weekend for 3days then one or two days the following weekend the Dr never suggested it,this year my body has just had infection after viral after access after infection then all that sun just drained my body.good luck, let us know what doc says please?I hope you get on good.

It says it can help delay hair loss, doesn't say that it helps grow new hair, disappointing.

So say your scalp was damaged by hairdresser bleaching your hair,it helps repair the follicles, you could google it.

What you have is undoubtedly Migraine. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 5 years ago, had loads of hair loss, pain in my scalp and really bad abdominal pain. None of the prescribed medications via my rheumatologist worked and so I got referred to a headache specialist after asking and finding one on the Internet.

I'm now on daily iron replacement & entirely different meds and my hair has stopped falling out as much as it did.

All the symptoms you list here are part of Migraine. As migraine patients have hair loss due to poor iron absorption in the body & brain. People with under active thyroid can also have hair loss and the two conditions often go together hand in hand.

I hope this all helps.

My advice, see a head he specialist a sap.

Thank you, I have recently had a number of blood tests, just waiting for results. If nothing comes back from them I will take your advice and see head ache specialist.

Many thanks xx
