I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in January this year. Recently I'm itching especially my legs and also have a rash. Is itching a symtom of Fibromyalgia? It's driving me mad at night it's bad enough with the pain. I'm on Gabapentin but I feel the side effects are quite bad and it doesn't seem to be helping the headaches and pain, so I'm going to ask my GP if there is anything else I can try.
Thanks

Hi Galaxy - itching/rash etc. can always be meds, incl. gabapentin, altho it's not that common there. I got it from most things I tried. I'd definitely wean it off. Maybe pregabalin, similar, or amitriptyline, nortriptyline, duloxetine instead, if you don't want to switch to the supp route.
Hi thanks for your reply. I will discuss it with my GP next week, it may be I have to put up with it along with all the other wonderful thing Fibro throws at us 😔
Maybe, but I've found there's a lot I can do to prevent or alleviate almost everything. What I can't too much is let's call it "exhaustion", but everything else (e.g. local pains, insomnia) I've got down to zero or a manageable point, so that I could work a bit again.
Hi, itching is always with me. Have had this problem for years and is not related to any meds. I have had fibro for many years also. I know dairy makes it worse along with certain flavourings in food.I have to try and manage it myself.
Hi ..for hed pain ..you must drink lots of water daily at least 2l..i have this tip from a life couh...and it works ..I suffered from migrene 12 years..and this I discovered now.
Hi yes I have experienced itching all over, it was totally unbearable especially at night. My doctor prescribes Dermol cream for me to use as a soap substitute and that has helped a lot.
Hi there galaxy 51yes it is a symptom I have at the moment and I feel like scratching my skin off it's all over from top to bottom 😞 this is just the worse disease you can have the doctor has gave me cream and antihistamines which help ,give the doctor a call it should help you before it gets worse.
Hello, sorry its driving you mad, I had this and would scratch till I bled turns out I am allergic to tramadol! I still itch and go numb but that's part of the rollercoaster of Fibro, please also check that your not eating or drinking anything with aspartame in it, it sends my fibro mental. Hope you get it sorted soon in the meantime try taking an antihistamine I take one as soon as it starts and it does help. Take care of yourself
