Type 2 Diabetic suffering excruciating pain from Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet and calves.

Hi, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes 3 years ago, take 1000mg of Metformin twice a day and 25mg of Alogliptin once a day. I have Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet and calves which is extremely painful. The skin is very very dry and itches and burns. I’ve tried so many creams but to no avail. I’m at my wits end and can’t see a bright future for myself. I cannot walk far and my balance is extremely poor. My feet and calves are swollen and by the time the Dr diagnosed my Diabetes I had a Blood Glucose reading of 27 mmol/L and was rushed to hospital by ambulance. They think I had been Pre Diabetic for a number of years with continuous very high Blood Glucose levels unbeknown to myself which caused Peripheral Neuropathy, muscle wasting, dry skin, blurred vision, extreme thirst, loss of appetite, nausea, ketones in my urine, urination frequency, change in tastebuds and lethargy. I need some advice on my Peripheral Neuropathy, I’m desperate. My Blood Glucose readings have settled down to between 5.2 mmol/L and 7.2 mmol/L morning and evening.
