Morning all , hope you have all had a good night 💤 sleep , I have to say I think I'm the only person enjoying this heat as it feels just the right temperature for me as I'm usually always freezing and can't warm up.Anyway help how do you cope with muscle twitching/ jerking ????? because i am suffering really bad with them all over my body, I feel a build up first like all the muscle is tightening them it twitches and Its continuous throughout different parts of the body nonstop.and is really worried. Is this part of the fibromyalgia or is it something else ?? If I don't reply I'm not being rude I'm off to a Barbi nextdoor today to watch the England match and I know the pins will be flowing all day and I don't drink much🤪so thank you all on advance for your reply I really appreciate it love to you all 💝💐

You could try a magnesium spray to see if that helps. Soaking for 20-30 minutes in a bath with magnesium flakes or Epsom salts might help, too.

I've noticed a huge reduction in twitchy muscles since I've been taking a magnesium supplement.

i've not found much that helps the twitchy muscles until recently ..... my hubby has a *chill pillow* which is a cool mat you put on your pillow. one night i had burning pain in my legs and they were really twitchy, so i put the pillow on my legs to try cool them down. the coolness didnt help much - but the weight does. i'm going to get a larger one (they do them as pet mats) to see if the larger one works any better as it will cover more of my legs. a friend has a weighted blanket which she says is fantastic - so that is maybe my next purchase when I have some spare pennies.

magnesium helps a lot of people - but sadly doesnt seem to do me any good :(

Hi Maccs I’m sorry you’re having to go through this it’s horrible, I was put on amitriptyline for mine as it’s a muscle relaxant it doesn’t stop them all. Sending gentle hugs 🤗

Hi Maccs, you must be one happy bunny today knowing England won again. Have you mentioned to ur GP about you feeling freezing all the time? Why I ask I had a neighbour who was the same for years, and she had a problem with her hypothalamus gland in her head which was picked up only by having an MRI. Also, mentioned this before, I get the same muscle jerks & terrible cramps and read it could be a deficiency in calcium, potassium & magnesium. So I started taking magnesium supplements, stepped up drinking

Milk (calcium) and eat a banana every evening (my jerks & cramps happen at night). And bingo, it stopped. If On the odd occasion I miss eating the banana, it’s back that very night. Try it, may offer you some relief x

Many thanks. Haven't tried potassium myself, so that's next on the list :-)

A bunch of narners on my shopping list then, I must admit I dont eat a lot of fruit because of GERD but I can manage narners and melon..

It has helped me tremendously, but if you get the cramps etc at night, eat banana during

The evening. Saying this because I’ve eaten it in the

Morning but still had the cramps at night. Good luck xx

Loads of potassium in banana’s - and it’s a natural source without side effects. (And for those who suffer constipation caused by meds, helps with that too) x

I so know the feeling. It's hell. It can also be called Restless Legs syndrome if its in legs only. I suffer from it a lot. Magnesium has helped, but nothing seems to cure it. I am also reading all the replies here. Really wish you will find some help to this horrible problem. Sending hugs

I fully understand how you feel. I was diagnoised with restless leg syndrome put even with meds they are still agony at night and twitch all the time. It also effects my arms. Ive tried most things already recommended by others but found no relief. I hope yoy manage to find something that helps you as i know how painful it is and its enough to drive you crazy. Xxx

I agree with most people you need to do some form of rigourous moving, muscles twitch and spasm when we are not moving about,, too much footy and tennis I,m blaming!!

Thank you to all replies I will try the suggestions.I went to see pain management last week and I wasn't getting this feeling then.He wants me to try to not take as much of the meds but he has no chance as he would take them if in all this pain.yes well pleased England won it was a lovely day though I left early during Croatia and Russia match Fe look t too ill to stay and I fell down some stairs as my legs gave way , couldn't sleep due to the pains and worse today , but us fibro sufferers carry on regardless as I always say. Hope you enjoy the sun today and let's see Hamilton win today at Silverstone💝💐😘

Hi l suffer from muscle jerks, I have been prescribed a number of muscle relaxents and I also eat 1-2 bananas a day but it does not stop it. I have both day and night, but the night ones are the worse. I will try the magnesium supplements. When you in pain I find I will try anything to ease it and without a good night sleep it is more difficult to fight the pain. Take care and if you find anything that helps please share it with us.

I went to doctor yesterday and he was useless just told me it was a bad flare up and to go on excersise bike.I said I can hardly walk you mind go on bike whilst watching TV. he very sympathetically said I know but you just have e to fight through the pain.I just cried when I got back.My husband massaged rosmery oil onto my legs and he couldn't believe how tight they felt. He doing same tonight, also hot my 3rd session of rakhie tonight so see if that helps any. Have been eating bananas like you all say so happy I got that time. Hope you are all feeling some what better today ❤️to you all and thanks for supporting me 💝💐
