Hi, similar to what ajay has replied, I would recommend getting an appointment with cab, local authority welfare rights officer or a local disability organisation if there is one. You can contact Janet, FMA UK benefits advisor, and she can send you guidelines on completing the forms. 0300 333 0055 (Mon & Fri 10.00 - 12.00) or benefitsadvice@fmauk.org

Good luck xxx

That's great... Do I ring this number and ask for Janet..?

Vicky, if you ring the benefits helpline it will be Janet that you speak to. Janet is excellent, and will give you good advice.

Get as much evidence as you can to send with your claim form - if you have had any x-rays, MRI scans, etc get copies of the results. If you see any consultants about anything see if you can get a letter from them.

Good luck x

Hazel_Angelstar - is that a typing error in the opening hours of the benefits helpline? It's saying Mon to Fri, but is it not just a Monday and a Friday? xx

Thanks for noticing.... Yes it should read mon & Fri..... That's what happens when you can't see your screen properly for the sun lol. (I've edited it)

Hi I'm a member of the benefits and work web site, their guides are invaluable and so many including myself have had great results from following their advice benefitsandwork.co.uk I've just finished and posted my forms, moving from DLA to PIP absolute nightmare process it all adds to pain flare up and stress levels!!!! 😴🤤😲

fighback4justice can help. they have a FB page, but also a website. There are lots of useful guides on there on how to complete benefit forms, relating to various conditions. I haven't used them myself, but I've heard a lot of good reports. They have lawyers who can help with appeals too. I think they do charge a fee though: don't know how much. But apparently, the DWP are starting to be scared of them!

A good starting point is this Guide:

drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw...

But there are even better Guides from Benefits and Work. Contact Janet, the benefits advisor as mentioned in another reply and get support from your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
