Hi Lynne_MA 😊🌸🌿🦋

I’m sooo sorry that you’re suffering so much with pain. What meds are you taking for it? To my knowledge there is no specific meds that eradicates the pain. What works for one doesn’t for another. Because we are all unique beings this disease is as unique too. There are common symptoms we all have to have to diagnose with it, but because all of us are in different living situations and life experiences so our experiences will vary slightly with them making it harder to treat.

The only meds I’m taking currently is Gabapentin 1200mg twice daily.

I was on Celebrex originally back in 2000. However here in the USA it was considered too dangerous for common use and the manufacturers made it a tier 3 drug for last resort use only. That really DID work. My Gaba is for my neuropathy and it helps but it by no means removes it.

I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time with the pain. I hope you will have relief soon dear.

Take care and best wishes.

Hi

Thank you so much for replying. I've also got non alcoholic stey, gastritis, IBS, diverticulitis, spondylitis and under active thyroid to name but a few. The pain relief I'm on is pregabalin, nortriptyline, zomorph, liquid morphine. Others that I'm on are fexofenadine for itching, prochlorperazine for nausea, thyroxin, I think that's the lot!!! My liver disease was caused by all the meds my drs have given me over the years?!? Love and hugs Lynne and

Ohhh Lynne 😳

I’m sooo sorry dear...you poor thing. Like you I have many problems too but I use very little meds because alcoholism and drug abuse runs in my immediate family and my fear of that outweighs my fear of the pain I guess.

Hun I’m sooo sorry that treating all of your problems led to your liver problems 🤗🤗🤗

I do hope and🙏 that you get the relief your searching for.

I have used nature sound CDs and soothing music as past alternatives. There are epsom salt soaks to ease relieve muscle connective tissues pain...have you tried any of these. How strong is your personal support group eg family close friends etc.?

Thank you so much. I have got a fantastic support group of family and friends. I'm very close to slot of my work mates. I've had to take ill health retirement but I can honestly say that my boss and HR have been brilliant. I've got the too notch for pension until I'm of pension age, I'm also getting a weeks pay for every year I've worked there. I'm a teaching assistant and dinner lady. I've been so lucky with everything about my retirement. My boss said you deserve a bonus after all you are going through.

How are you at the moment? Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

You are very blessed indeed Lynne. I’m so glad to hear that your support team is great. What an empathetic boss you had..and yes you sound like you are doing pretty good for your retirement too.

It’s so sweet of you to ask about me dear. I can tell it like it really is buuut that would only depress us both and we don’t want or need that. Besides I have found that things could be so much worse.

I’m 67 and retired without benefits in 1994. I just started getting social security payments recently. I’m not very mobile so I am a shut in only get out for the doctor or hospital visits in the last 4 years since my physician therapy spine injury.

Are you able to still enjoy some activities? I hope so ...it enriches life so much.

Thank you so so much, you are very kind. I usually try and meet up with a friend or just go a walk as my liver consultant , Dr and my counsellor as well as everyone else have said to me you need to go out each day. I sometimes have to force myself cos of my depression, I'm on citalopram for this. I do feel better emotionally when I get back. I'm off work at the mo , my boss advised me to do so, she is fantastic.

Sorry for rabbiting on

How are you this my? Ply take . Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Thank you for your kind remarks. I’m so glad you’re able to meet with friends or walk about...that’s wonderful. I’m allergic to everything outside so I avoid unless necessary. Being inside for over 30 years now. This is my safe haven. I used to cry 😢 over it all at the start but once I turned it around saw the positive side of my situation acceptance was easy then.

How hard is it on you at work with all of your health problems...I’m sure some days are worse depending on circumstances? When I worked I really struggled because I didn’t deal with my health problems I pushed through it all by concentrating on everything/ one else and I’m paying for that now. Can’t undo it and the lessons learned are too little too late for me I’m afraid. Now I try to teach this lesson to others especially my oh.

Hi

My boss who has been brilliant advised me to take ill health retirement. This was in January, I retire on the 29th June. I've been off sick since January. I came back to work 18 months after having time off , I struggled all of last year, it made me feel so I'll as I have a few conditions. Sorry to rabbit on . How are you this morning? Xxxx

Hi you’re not rabbiting on...we’re getting to know each other this way. I enjoy 😊 this.

I’m sorry about your struggle... bless your boss she really likes you and is very lovely to advise you like this.

As for how l am...well I’m miserable but I’m pushing through it as best as I can. Thank you for asking.

What time is it there...it’s 2:50 a.m. here.

We’re having jungle like weather again now. The humidity is so hard on me as I’m sure it is on most sickly people. I live in Michigan USA 🇺🇸 and it is often humid here as we are surrounded by water on three sides. 60 years ago we only had a few days a year that we’re like this ...my how tomes have changed.

Thank you for your kind reply. I'm going to pain management on Tuesday but I haven't found it much use. By the way it's 8:27 am here. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

I was so sceptical about the pain management course, but I stuck it out for the six weeks, it was really hard because the chairs were horrendous and the acoustics in the room set my hyper-vigilance off so that wasn't great. However, I did find some stuff helpful - the stretching and strengthening stuff, the pacing, and it helped me understand a bit about how pain works, muscle degeneration etc.

When I was finally diagnosed my GP told me to be careful of a downward spiral and ending up bedridden, his words have stayed with me. It's all too easy to be afraid of the pain - our natural instinct is to protect ourselves when we feel it, but with Fibro it's different, our pain isn't because we are in danger, it's because our pain mechanism is basically screwed up. So, when we have a sprained ankle and are told to rest then that's what we do, Fibro is different. I don't really have any advice about meds - my GP recently started me on Gabapentrin which seems to helping a bit, for which I am extremely thankful.

Anyway, I'm rambling, hope you have a better day. gentle hugs xx

Thanks, you too xxxx

Thank you so much, I will give both s try xxxx
