Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all doing as ok as possible.

I’m not yet diagnosed but have most of the symptoms, I’m awaiting test results etc from the GP.

So, this last 4 days my coccyx has been really hurting! This is a totally new pain/symptom to me and was just wandering if it’s something anyone else experiences?

Hi Debs, from what I know of I’ve never injured mine so find it really buzzard that it’s now hurting?! I’m not overly mobile but do make sure I get up and move around every half hour or so. So after talking to a friend today I wandered if it could be fibro related and if it’s something common xxx

Hi over the last few weeks I’ve been suffering with this pain also, really struggle to sit or move about sometimes, it’s a weird one as I’m not even sure what I do to cause it, I’ve never injured it in the past either 🤷🏼‍♀️ Take care xx

Hi Lyn I damaged my coccyx a couple of times the first time I only had pain medication and it took about 12 weeks before it cleared up. The second time I had a corticosteroids injection and it cleared up in about 10days. However after I had the injection it was really painful but I prefer to suffer for 10 days instead of 12 weeks. I hope that you manage to have some treatment to help you recover. Have a lovely restful weekend and take good care. Love and hugs 🤗🤗🌹🌹😘😘

Hi there.

Yes I have this to. Prolonged sitting(immobility) can cause it. I've been ill since childhood and I'm in my thirties now.

I also developed bursitis and piriformis syndrome around the same time. lucky me! Due to this combination, i had extreme pain. I eventually found great advice from a doctor on the web. I already had a coccyx cushion but he advised cutting out two holes on a 3inch memory foam cushion to relieve the pressure. I just cut the holes out of my coccyx cushion. It was thick enough. So it tackled all my issues.

If it's just your Coccyx bothering you, you may not need to cut the holes out. The special cushions have a gap anyway to relieve Coccyx pressure. It has definitely helped me. I used to not be able to sleep with the pain. I got rid of the piriformis symdrome completely due to the cut out cushion and magnesium. The other issues have improved but still bother me and no doubt will do until im more mobile.

Magnesium helped me deal with the pain: doctoroz.com/blog/jacob-tei...

I hope this helps. 😃
