Yes I do now and then and find that it does help. As I find that the fatigue is more of a problem than the pain I try to stay off strong pain killers as much as possible. So, in my case I find the Tens machine a useful back up.

Yes I find a tens machine good. Bought it from Lloyd’s pharmacy and only cost £15.

I have a Tens which does help with my osteoarthritis pain , well takes the top edge off but found it non-use for my fibro pain unfortunately but what doesn't work for one works for another. Good luck if you decide to try one.x

Hello Veggiehog,

I use a Tens machine everyday, mainly for lower back pain. I can't vouch for the Fibro pain, because I mean, where do you start?

The machine I use is from Body clock either direct or from the big department store on the web (no commission claimed for this advert) it has multi settings and timings, which is important because I normally use for at least 2 hours a day sometimes a lot longer. It does seem to take the edge of my back pain.

Most physio's recommend using it for a small period of time (usually 10-60 minutes) but I found it works better the longer you use it, and you must persevere and experiment with the settings to find it's best use for you.

I believe the 1 from Lloyds is a basic machine with 15 minute setting.

Take care.

Yes. Pads irritated my skin and no benefit. But as someone said, where do you start with fibro pain? How to arrange pads if you don't understand seat of pain. I did a lot of fiddling around to see if better placement helped then the pads were curling up not sticking properly irritating my skin more. It made me uncomfortable and more aware of my pain. I tend to rely on distraction so focusing in on it wasn't go me.

Ive found mine really helps with neck pain. Takes time to get used to it, best places to stick the pads etc. Mine's from Lloyds Pharmacy via Amazon, 4 pads, cost about £15 I think. I can't take prescription meds either because of side effects so the tens machine is a useful addition.

I find it useful for the pain in my lower body, just don’t seem to be able to position it right for my shoulders though 😩

I use one & find it very helpful, I have one at home & one at work! I put it on the most painful spot, but it does distract you from pain elsewhere too.

Yes! I use it for lower back pain ( I’m a nurse so prob not fibro pain!) but I also use it for shooting pains in the fronts of my thighs, on the tops of my feet and anywhere my pain happens to be. I’ve found it a great help and mine was also from Lloyd’s so at 15 quid it’s worth it. The only problem Iv has with it is that sometimes I could do with about 10 pads on at a time!!!!😳😁

Some good ones on eBay. I wear mine doing chores or pottering in garden

Hello Veggiehog, yes I have a TENS unit it is good for local pain but wide spreed pain it just doesn’t have enough leads and electrodes. With fibromyalgia a TENS unit just isn’t enough in and of itself. Back pain yes fibro no. 🤗💕🦋

I use a Tens for fibromyalgia and if nothing else it doesn’t half relax you so helping you through a flare.

Hope this helps

I used one and it irritated me no end. It made my nerve endings more sensitive and the tingles the Tens machine gives made me want to throw it across the room. I couldn't stand it.

I guess what suits one does not always suit another, we are all different. Fingers crossed it works for you.

Pain clinic gave me mine. Cost 20 quid. Body clock 1st choice plus. Got instruction on how to use. Get my pads from Amazon better stick and last a lot longer. Use mine for up to 6 hrs a day but move pads around and told to vary strength and modulation . Helpful but not a cure.
