Why is it that America is always the first to recognises long term debilitating illnesses, this happened with ME too it’s so annoying, how long will it be before the UK catch up and this government acknowledge that fibromyalgia is not just an illness like a cold you won’t just over it in a couple of weeks 9.5 people out 10 have it for life, so stop stressing FibroWarriors out by denying them PIP. Ok I’ll stop ranting now and let you read what my daughter found xxx

this is not news, is not to do with the US and reflects an official acceptance of the condition in Northern Ireland.
I know it’s not new to us Desquinn but that was the headline on the USA HealthTimes website xxx
Just that its not America recognising anything so thought it was worth commenting on.
Also we often have this issue of how the DWP recognises something and how the NHS treats it. When we talk about it we are often talking as if they are the same and they are not. While this article cites disability (as in DWP) the announcement was actually health based and about it being recognised as a long term health condition. Wow and that article was back in September. Why can’t the Government just accept that we fibro friends are fighting a losing battle and let us fight it with dignity instead of making us jump through hoops xxx
