Pip?

Hi everyone,

I would like to apply for pip,but I don’t think I have the energy or the strength to go through the hassle. In the past before I was diagnosed with FM I applied having severe back, leg problems I blamed having a spinal block for the numbness and no feeling in my face, then as time went on and more symptoms arose it was clearly not the spinal block after all , I was only awarded my stamp paid and after a year went for assessment and lost it, my symptoms are much more now and extremely debilitating I’m arguing with myself should I or not apply.

Thanks for all the support shown to all on this site.gentle hugs.

Please try again at least this time you will already have the experience of having applied before and know the pitfalls. Get help from our benefit advisor Janet as she has access to some good material and really concentrate on th descriptors where you feel you can gain most points. Remember it is not the illnesses you have but now they affect you on a daily basis. We get used to slowly learning to cope and what is normal for us would be deemed as being abnormal to a healthy person.

Try keeping a diary for 2 weeks on how long things like dressing etc take you what pain and fatigue you suffer after doing a task answer you able to do anything afterwards. You might be surprised when you start reading but how you have had to adjust your life because if your illness. Use these problems as illustrations when you fill in the form. Get help from CAB or similar if at all possible. Good luck.x

Good morning I would definitely try again. They need to know about your worst day ever not how you feel on that day. See if you can find a organisation to assist you. Where are you?

Forget about appealing again because it will be judged on the information you supplied before and turned down.

Submit fresh claim with doctors, consultants letters and other bodies involved in your care. Make an appointment to see doctors and consultants so you have recent letters and information.

Keep a diary, copy some you bad days and send with form. If you have swelling, take a picture if possible and send that to.

Hope things are get better for you. Sending hugs take care
