2 days into giving up smoking
Best of luck hun there were no gadgets when I stopped in 1995 I had to cold turkey...
Well done, keep up the good work!
Well done. I tried everything possible to stop over the years and finally succeeded (well almost 2 yrs ago) by using champix. I'm now 61 so smoked a long time ! Good luck, hope you're successful
Well done for giving up. I nagged the OH for years and it took a heart attack to finally convince him. So proud of him - since that heart attack he hasn't had a single one - long may it last. The hospital gave him patches and inhaler but he didn't use them just went cold turkey. To be honest think smoking was the last thing on his mind ! Again well done you and keep up the good work
Well done for stopping smoking, I smoked for years and tried everything to stop, I now vape and have got the nicotine level down to 6mg from 23mg 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I have never smoked but both my parents did which eventually led to them both having severe health problems in later life. I can't really appreciate how hard it is to give up personally but I have witnessed it second hand. My dad always refused to pack them in and he suffered heart problems from the age 50 on-wards and was confined to the house for a long time until at the age of 63 when he suffered a fatal heart attack. My mum did eventually give up but only after she was diagnosed with angina and COPD. I know with my mum beside the obvious nicotine withdrawal she was often at a loss what to do with her hands. I encouraged her to take up knitting which served both as a distraction and also gave her something to do with her hands. So well done on taking the step to give up, I wish you all the luck in the world. xxx
Thank you all for the positive comments they mean alot. I carnt believe it 3 days wow I have had 2 fags in 3 days I want that to be none but I'm getting there thank you again guys x
Hi,
My best advice to you is every time you feel or think about a zig - just take a deep breath over and over. We smokers are used to getting our oxygen through the drag of the zig and now our breathing is shallow. So in real terms you are craving oxygen as well. Give it a try - just take a couple of breaths and the moment will pass. Gave up for the 100th time six months ago :).
Well done I know how hard it is too stop( iv still not quite managed it).you're doing great.I take my hat off to anyone that can stop I asked my doctor for help he was very Luke warm about it and didn't offer much help.but I though they were meant too offer help with stopping😕.you keep it up and let us know how you're doing x
