Hi all was just wondering what the difference is between work related group esa and support group as I have just had a medical assessment and have been moved from work related to the support group which gives me a little more money much to my amazement as I was dreading the out come! Just wondering if there are any other differences.thankyou.

Im in the support group and have £109 a week. The main difference is that the job centre dont keep asking you to look for work. I have been told I cant do any work related activity. I still do some voluntary work at my local church. If I dont do something I will go mad.

In support Group you are normally awarded disability Elements of ESA and as Golfer15 says not called in to the job Centre so often.
In work related they can ask and expect you to attend courses they feel may lead onto Job opportunities in the future.
You can be sanctioned if you don't attend of refuse
