Hi everyone, I’m just new here, although I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 4yrs ago. I also have ME and cervical spondyolsis. I’m in the process of coming off my gabbapentin, was taking 900mg three times per day, to go onto Duloxitine. I was wondering if anyone has done this change and if so how did you find it ? Thanks in advance

Hi Hun, welcome to our lovely, friendly group. Unfortunately, I can’t reply fully to your question, however, I hope my response might help a little bit. As well as having fibro, I’ve been on pregabalin for quite a while due to a benign cystic spinal tumour. This causes pain in my leg and lower back. In the last few months I’ve also started taking duloxetine. Initially it was 60mgs but it gave me awful side effects, which included nausea and vomiting, feeling incredibly disoriented, extreme exhaustion and fatigue whereby I struggled to stay awake etc. It did however help me a bit with my leg pain. So in view of this my gp prescribed it again but at 30mgs. I found I still had the side effects but they were definitely reduced. So I put up with the more severe side effects like the exhaustion and sleeping and nausea etc as it still helps with the leg pain. Recently I’ve started taking it later in the evening so I sleep slightly better at night. With fibro and my tumour i get very little sleep anyway so the duloxetine gives me a couple of hours of broken sleep per night. Sorry for rambling on but I hope I’ve helped a bit. Take care x

Hi Lily

Yes I was the same as you all I can say about duluxetine is forget about it please do your research on this drug before you take it.

I have been off and on it 3 times and each it was a living nightmare.

I wish you luck

Hugs

Dave

Hiya, I'm on Gaba and Dulox and both have really helped me. Dulox has made my sleep easier and took a good level of pain away. I'm more sleepy during the day than I would like, but the compromise is worth it. I take 3 x 30mg at night. Gaba helps me with the shaking and coordination problems and some of the pain too. I couldn't come off either one at the moment, though I hope to one day! Best of luck xx
